Just back from a three night stay at the Hotel Adlon. It seems mean to give them an average rating but at the same time the next one up of very good seems a little too effusive. This hotel is a little tired in places but was very clean. The rooms were warm (a lot of time too warm for... More

Nice workers of the hotel, good, delicious breakfast, quite and clean rooms in a classical stile. .. Location is about 2 km away from city centre, but has a good connection to it with suburban lines..

Greeted upon arrival by a friendly girl, who was very concerned that my husband was using a stick and our room was on the section of the first floor that had no lift. We assured her we didn't mind, but she was so insistent and kind that we agreed to move to another room, served by a lift, the next... More

I will start with the good facts about this hotel which are the reason for the 2 stars. It is clean, the location is good, not ideal but not bad either. The breakfast is desent but you would certainly expect more from a 3 star hotel. Also, we initially stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and returned after about... More

First impressions were good the entrance hall and reception look clean and modern. the receptionist was friendly and helpful but offered us no help with luggage (we had 3 suitcases!). Getting in to the bedroom we found it very small. We asked for twin beds but we had a double. The bathroom was very slall and no space in the... More

Good location near Prater and about 5 min walk from subway station. There is no hotel parking but You can park nearby at Shell for 6 euro per day. Satisfied breakfast, rooms are clean but hotel needs some renovation. Anyway really good quality for good price. It can be recommended for a few days stay.

We were guests at Adlon Hotel for ten days in June. Staff was extremely helpful. Room was comfortable, not deluxe, but comfortable bed, solid reliable Internet service, large room safe (could fit 13" MacBook Pro and lots of other valuables), good variety for breakfast, and very close to U-Bahn (metro). But no air conditioning that we could see -- our... More

An interesting locality, but overall a positive experience. Not too far from the historic centre, some interesting shops and services provided locally! Good tidy hotel with friendly staff and a tasty breakfast. Internet was however slow and bathroom somewhat compact. Probably a 3.5, but we've erred on the cautious side.

The Adlon seems very adult in its decor and aesthetics but its location, right opposite the Prater - the worlds second oldest amusement park and green lung of the city makes it a great option for travel with families. Their triple room was huge, more than enough for the two of us with our 8 year old and had all... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
