I stayed at the Bag and Map apartment guesthouse for three nights during a trip to Vienna in September 2012. The directions provided make finding the apartment building very easy from the subway station which is a few minutes walk away. The apartments are in a very old building, which seemed to have a lot of character which I felt... More

I booked this residence for the 4 of us that were travelling on budget. My sister and her boyfriend had a very nice studio flat with separate kitchen and bedroom very was bright! My friend and I had a twin room. Everything was simple, basic ( no soap and only 1 toilet roll and 1 small bin!), but rooms are... More

It was one of the niceness hotels I've ever been in! Convenient location near u-bahn and bus stop to the city center, very clean room and super friendly staff for reasonable price. If you want to enjoy your hotel in Vienna as much as the city itself, choose Bag&Map.

Ok place if you wanna stay for couple days at a reasonable price, but do not except conditions like in a 4 star hotel. Bus station nearby, just a fews stops to the old town. Quite nice and comfy.

Stayed here for a long weekend when visiting Vienna for a Davis Cup match in March 2011. My friend and I like to try to find deecent but cheap accommodation, and this was possibly the best we have ever found on our travels. Appears there were only two "rooms" but pleasantly surprised that it was a very large room, basically... More

I consider myself a fairly well seasoned traveler having backpacked in Europe several times (just to give this review some context). On this particular trip I was traveling with my parents and we got two rooms with a shared kitchen for 3 nights. The guest house is a short walk from the subway (between two stops) and the bus is... Our room was small flat (in a very old building). The flat has a modern bathroom, large and nice room and equipped kitchen! Good value for money. The flat is 30 Min by walking to the ring (where all the tourist places are) or if you prefer you can take the nearest metro (which is 5 Min by walking). The... More

we paid for double bed and got two single beds instead. as they weren't fixed, we were at constant risk of falling between them which was very inconvenient. there was no bread knife, no cutting board and the bathroom lacked a small bowl and glasses to put soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste into. there was nowhere to put your shower gel... We stayed in a 3-person private room, it looked nice but the morning after I got hives and bites all over my body.. The location is also a little sketchy, as well as the inside of the building. Don't stay if you don't like hives or sketchy places.

I booked online Bag and Map excited by the room pictures. Me and my friends arrived arround 11pm and the neighborhood was very scary. Completly dark, there wasn~t any sign in the building, seemed like a red light district. We ringed the doorbell many times and finally a lady came to reception us . We were very scary to come... Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
