Old and simple lends to its character. The man at the front desk was friendly and helpful - he translated whatever he was speaking about in German with my partner so that I could understand it too. The room and bathroom was clean and quiet. The tram stops right in front of the building and will take you straight into... More

Hotel hadrigan is an old and simple hotel. Strangely enough it was not that easy to find, because nowhere on the facade the name of the hotel is even mentioned. The only thing that gave away the right location it the street number next to the door. The rooms are in a bit outdated state and the mattresses are very... More

I was really satisfied with this hotel. It is very well located, the nearest undergroud station is just a ten minutes walk. It is a little bit old, but it didnt matter a bit to me. I also appreciate the free wifi even in the hotel rooms and not just in the lounge, and most importantly the amazing breakfast for... More

I really liked our stay in this hotel. It's located right by the tram and bus stations and some ten minutes walk from the underground station. It's obsolete, but I liked the atmosphere of old times there so that wasn't a problem for me. The only thing that really needs some reconstruction is bathroom. Room was clean and big and... More

An average hotel wrt room and facilities. But its very near to any kind of public transport like tram or buses. Even ottakring metro station is just walking distance away. Should be explored by those who are visiting very first time in Vienna.

Eventhough it was an old hotel, it had elevator, WiFi and included breakfast, maybe it's not the best hotel if you are going to spend time there, but Viena has lots of things ti do soI needed it only for sleeping and it was okay.

Room: Got a large-sized room which didn't smell like cigarettes, free wifi and beds were quite clean. Hotel seems to be maintained in proper condition, apart from the fact that it's a little old. The hotel itself is located 15 minutes away from Stephanplatz by the U3 train, and a 5-10 minute walk from the Ottakring station. Service: After a... More

I have stayed at this hotel more times than I can even remember from working in Vienna. Its an 'ok' hotel, the staff can be quite abrupt, and the decor... Well I tend to call it fawlty towers... However it is within easy access to Vienna (15 mins on the underground) which is a short walk away, has 24 hour... More

Staying in Ottakring

Neighborhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
