We were a party of three adults and two little girls and it was perfect for us and affordable. We had a family suite of two rooms and had lots of room. It is in a good neighbourhood so plenty of restaurants in the area. Breakfast had lots of choices, the host could not have been more helpful. It was... More

We had such a lovely time at Pension Kraml - our three days and nights here were perfect to relax and also explore Vienna. Stephan and staff were friendly and so helpful, the rooms were enormous and the included breakfast had an amazing range of delicious treats (especially the breads and cakes!). Good wifi and great location - easy walk... More

It has been a long time since we have stayed in a pension and we could have not have made a better choice . This family owned and operated establishment is friendly ,most helpful and professionally run. While our hosts were providing us with local information and advise our granddaughters had found the chocolates in the room and were using... More

The location is extremely convenient to everything in Vienna by metro. It is just outside the ring of the city. We were happy to use the efficient metro system to get to everything and be outskirts for the night. Our room was huge for just the two of us. It was clean and the furnishings were not modern, but functional.... More

My husband and I loved this hotel! First of all, the room was much larger than most European hotel rooms. We asked for a quiet room and were given a room on the 2nd floor that looked into the quiet courtyard. There is no elevator, so the 2nd floor (which in Europe is considered the first floor) was good. The... More

We spent 3 nights as guests at the Pension Kraml and were very pleased with our find. Centrally located, yet tucked away in a quiet back street, the pension is charmingly appointed, with plenty of old world charm and typical Viennese hospitality. Breakfast was hearty and plentiful and our host was both informed and professional in his dealings with the... More

This is a fabulous little pension my mother and I stayed in for 5 nights. The included breakfast buffet was stellar. It was fairly easy to find, and in between metro lines (so we could always walk downhill). Wonderful local restaurants are close by, along with plenty of shopping. This was the first time I've had to share a bathroom... More

We enjoyed our stay in Pension Kraml. We booked a double room with shared bathroom and we were nicely surprised. Our room was cosy and clean and so was the bathroom/shower room. Breakfast was great, nice choice of food and drink. Walking distance to main shopping street (Mariahilfer Strasse) and metro stops. There are not many restaurants in the area.

We stayed at Pension Kraml for 4 nights in April, 2015. This is a small hotel that is in a good location (5 minute walk plus 2-stops on the subway to The Ring). The rooms are utilitarian, but comfortable and clean. It is owned and managed by a family and they are very focused on getting the details right. The... More

We stayed in Apartments Kraml so we had our own washroom and shower wish was nice. Each in our family of four had a single bed which worked out well as it was spacious. The decor in the apartment was very dated and the shower had a terrible shower head which if it was changed would have made for a... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
