I stayed here with 3 of my friends for 2 nights in a four person private room with en-suite bathroom. The room was clean along with the linen. but the measure issue was that there was only one charging socket in the whole room. this made charging the phone, my camera batteries, etc really hard. also the pillow and the... I stayed in Vienna for one day and night only, which happened to be a Sunday. I also happened to contract severe tonsillitis on this day, I was in a lot of pain and it was also swelteringly hot. I found my own way to the nearest hospital to attempt to get an appointment with little success, when I returned... More

We spend here two nights: the first in the huge dorm and the second in a 6 bed dorm. Both dorms have really good conditions and were very clean. The bathrooms have two showers. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The only two downsides were the lack of power plugs nearby the bed (you may ask for an electric... More

This is a purpose built hostel, which in theory should be a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and spacious (i stayed in a 6 bed dorm), there is a big lounge area, breakfast included, and the location whilst a bit out of town is still only 20 minutes away from the city centre on the u-bahn. But... More

Advantages of this hostel is: the staff are so helpful, they give you all information you need, near to metro station, clean bed sheets, nice view. Disadvantages is: well, no facilities at all in bathrooms, they had take some of my cloths because they thought i checked out while i didnt, even when i asked for it they said they... More

Good price, clean, very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms have few electric sockets. The bathrooms are coeducational, but the toilets are separated (the rooms don't have toilets and bathroom). Good for group of friends.

Researched online and definitely seemed best value. However, rooms were way too crowded, (we were in a 20 dorm that should have had 10 max) some of the lockers were broken, nowhere near enough plug sockets. The toilets and shower were very good but again not enough (2 between 20). Also there was no atmosphere whatsoever quite a few older... More

Pros: great breakfast, starting early. Close to train station. High number of rooms. Great WC/bathroom facilities Cons: ZERO hostel spirit. No age limit so one might get called out to be silent at 11pm! only microwave and fridge, no kitchen. 30 min train ride to the center.

Stayed there two nights. Yes it's about 20mins by the U4, but it goes every 5mins! Apparently there aren't any ticket inspectors, but a 48hr pass for €13 euro is good considering the number of sights to see in Vienna. If you want to stay in the city centre, expect to spend more on accommodation costs. Hostel Hütteldorf is a... More

Staying in Hietzing

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s 13th district has always been in the shadow of Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens, but has interesting hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Allow half a day for the imposing Habsburg residence and the gardens with Gloriette belvedere. Reserve the other half to discover the secret charms of this posh residential neighborhood. Sneak out of the gardens at Hietzinger Tor (Hietzing Gate) and head down Hietzinger Hauptstrasse for Kaiserpavillon (Emperor’s pavilion), an Art Nouveau gem right on top of U4’s metro railtracks. At local institutions Café Dommayer and restaurant Plachutta you can mingle with residents, their families and friends. Dommayer has risen to fame since waltz king Johann Strauss and his orchestra performed there regularly. If you want to go beyond private villa gazing visit Klimtvilla and Hermesvilla. Art Nouveau genius Gustav Klimt had his last studio in a now beautifully renovated villa, which is open during spring and summer. Hermesvilla at Lainzer Tiergarten animal enclosure and nature park is a must for all romantics and fans of Empress Sissi.
