Walking there was really scary felt like we were in a really bad part in vienna. quite a way from the city center we were only here for one day. bit pricey for the location. also going to the pub was a scary walk at night but the pub close by had the best beer i had ever had. also... More

We stayed in this hostel for 3 nights and the experience was great. They have a 24 h reception (which was good as we arrived at 3 in the morning), very very clean and the staff was really helpful and nice. Good breakfast and services (elevator, very clean bed-sheets, free parking, free wi-fi). A minus would be that a 6... More

The rooms are ok: they are clean, there are lockers available, it has a private bathroom and there is Wi-Fi in the bedrooms. Breakfast is included with a great variety of food. It has no kitchen though. Only a fridge and a microwave where you can heat the food. If you are expecting a fancy or luxurious hostel then forget... More

Staying at Hostel Hütteldorf for New Year's was for sure one of the best decisions me and my best friend could have ever made! For us (two girls in their early twenties looking for fun) it was the perfect place: clean (I suffer from asthma and I had no problems at all), easy to reach (5 minutes from the end... More

I stayed in Hostel Hutteldorf for three nights this past week. My four friends and I had a 6-bed private room with toilet and shower facilities down the hall. We really liked the facilities: there was lots of space to put our things, the beds were comfortable, and everything seemed fairly new. One complaint we had about the room was... More

I stayed at this hostel with a friend of mine in a four-bed mixed room with private shower and basin (toilet in the hallway) for four nights. The hostel is basic, but comfortable. Breakfast is included in the price, but is nothing fancy. Just some things to keep in mind before booking your stay here: - The hostel is quite... More

We arrived early in the morning and there wasn't anyone in line. Immediately we see a small woman named Maria at the front. She looks up at my husband, who is black, and gives a look of disgust. She didn't even look at me, I'm white. She immediately looked down and went back to cutting her papers. We stood there... More

Room was clean. Shower was good. Breakfast was nice. Distance to the city centre was not an issue because it's closed to the metro. Everything was very well organized in this hostel. It's just not cozy. But one local restaurant down the hill, was amazing!

Nothing special about this hostel, but was a comfortable nights stay. Nice clean place, with a nice included breakfast. Near to a metro station making it easy to get into the centre of Vienna. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially when my friend booked for the wrong night!

Staying in Hietzing

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s 13th district has always been in the shadow of Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens, but has interesting hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Allow half a day for the imposing Habsburg residence and the gardens with Gloriette belvedere. Reserve the other half to discover the secret charms of this posh residential neighborhood. Sneak out of the gardens at Hietzinger Tor (Hietzing Gate) and head down Hietzinger Hauptstrasse for Kaiserpavillon (Emperor’s pavilion), an Art Nouveau gem right on top of U4’s metro railtracks. At local institutions Café Dommayer and restaurant Plachutta you can mingle with residents, their families and friends. Dommayer has risen to fame since waltz king Johann Strauss and his orchestra performed there regularly. If you want to go beyond private villa gazing visit Klimtvilla and Hermesvilla. Art Nouveau genius Gustav Klimt had his last studio in a now beautifully renovated villa, which is open during spring and summer. Hermesvilla at Lainzer Tiergarten animal enclosure and nature park is a must for all romantics and fans of Empress Sissi.
