There is a little plaque outside the entrance on Stumpergasse advising that Stadtnest B&B is nestled inside the hundred-and-twenty-odd-year-old edifice. Heaving open the outer-door - strong enough for a small fortress - one trundles along the cool, stoney corridor to the next set of doors. These are not opened just yet, for one needs to turn to one’s right and... More

Our family stayed 4 nights in Vienna and Barbara is like a friend for strangers in a big city. She was very helpful with all her tips, maps and suggestions. It made our stay a lot easier and saved us time since we only had 4 days. The location is quiet and close enough to all major tourist attractions. Also,... More

My daughter and I spent three days at Stadtnest B&B, exploring all of Vienna by foot. The room was lovely, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast a real treat! Every morning we were greeted with delicious homemade jams and biscuits (with gluten-free options), organic meats and cheeses, yogurt, and eggs. Best of all was Barbara's advice! She helped us map... Perfectly clean. Extremly friendly and caring host. The appartment has all one needs and if there's any question, the host living nearby but sufficiently separated to ensure an undisturbed stay. AND it is in walking distance to the city center.

This B&B is wonderful and Barbara, the owner, is very helpful. This is not in the city center but is only two subway stops away. The street is quiet and the rooms are very nice. You do need to be willing to walk, but it is two blocks from the subway station and large pedestrian street that takes you to... More

We had an amazing time at Stadtnest Bed & Breakfast while we were in Vienna. My husband and I stayed there for seven nights over the Christmas holiday. Barbara was a fantastic host; she was extremely hospitable and welcoming. The B & B was in walking distance from the main shopping street and the U station which we took to... More

True to its reputation among reviewers on Tripadvisor, the B&B shined through our stay experience in Vienna. The hostess showed such kind hospitality that we felt happy for making the choice to stay at Stadtnest rather than any other place. I had stayed there with my wife and we both enjoyed our time there. The place is location wise perfect... More

Wow what a wonderful B and B! We stayed at Stadtnest for 3 nights in December. The B and B is centrally located within easy walkng distance to Central Vienna and Ubahn station. Our room was spacious for three people and both beds very comfortable. Barbara is the perfect host and is a wealth of information about Vienna which made... More

Following great tripadvisor reviews we stayed there for three nights. The location is super convenient as everybody here said - a short walk to Ubahn station and West Bahnhof(which is on Mariahilferstrasse with shops as H&M, Zara, and sort of CVS pharmacy). Three stops to the center of the city and you can actually walk to the Museum Quartier(about 20... More

My husband and I stayed four evenings at Stadtnest while visiting Vienna in December. Our stay was delightful. The B and B was centrally located and within a few minutes walking distance to the train station, metro, and shopping district. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We had access to the breakfast nook, computer, and travel guides for the... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
