This lovely hotel is on the outskirts of Vienna, with a train station directly across the road. The trains go to the city centre every 5-15 minutes. Staff - Friendly and at least attempted to be helpful. The main woman who managed the property while I was there was very good, very helpful. The hotel is situated outside the city center, close to Schoenbrunn Palace, but the metro station with direct line to city center is across the street. I am from Germany and I stayed in the hotel An der Wien in March 2007 with two friends for 3 nights. The hotel is out of the center, but very close to the metro station U4 Hütteldorf. Even though this little gem is a little far from the action, 15 minutes from the centre on the Metro, which is right in front, cured that right up. Rooms were great, and breakfast was AMAZING! We stayed at the Hotel an der Wien for 3 nights in April. This hotel is close to the Hutteldorf station on U4 which takes approximately 15 minutes to get to the Opera house.
