Vienna is expensive and this hotel is one of the cheaper stays you will get that has a good location* and parking*. Reception was average, nicest staff we met were the cleaners :-) I'll break this review into 3 parts.. 1 = driving to this hotel and parking 2 = the hotel etc 3 = the location 1. When you... More

The hotel is a 3 minute walk from Schonbrunn Palace (which is breathtaking) and is a 5 minute walk from Heitzing Ubahn station. It takes around 10 minutes by train to many attractions. The hotel is very easy to locate too. On top of that, it is surrounded by shops, restaurants, and marts. The staff were helpful and wifi was... More

Great location if you don't want to be in the city centre, Ekazent sits within a featureless building block atop some nondescript shops, making you wander what you are in for when you approach and climb the stairs past offices to the hotel reception and its resident sulphur-crested cockatoo (mind your fingers!). But the interior is comfortable, if no frills,... More

This hotel is above a small retail precinct but do not be put off. It is clean and the rooms are huge nd there was no noise from other guests. It is a 5 minute stroll to the Ubahn which takes you to the centre in 10 minutes. The side entrance to the Schonbrunn is just across the street and... More

We sleept there for only 1 night, the main reason to choose it was that it is located in vicinity of Schonnbrunn area. We paid 69 Eur/night and additionaly 20 eur for the car...old facility( bit of taste of 80's) but clean and reasonable as price

Stayed with a small group in June. A slightly eccentric budget hotel in a modern building located in a very pleasant slightly up-market area near Schonbrunn! When checking in I was greeted with a warm "Hello" from the Cockatoo adjacent to reception. Not sure if appropriate for a hotel but no food was served in the adjacent lounge. Hotel is... More

Nice clean small silent hidden hotel with the room you can book for Wiener Sängerknaben (very big :) ). Good to sleep and go. Book it if you need cheap room in Vienna. Besides there are some interesting places to walk through: Zoo, Schönbrunn Castl. Metro station is very close to the hotel. It takes you 10 minutes to get... More

We checked in at this hotel yesterday at 29.08.2013. The garage was not easy to find, but with reachable easy if your pay attention. The checkin was very fast easy. The real surprise started when we pass the hallway: dirty, smelly and not cleaned at least in the last 5 years. The room is rusty, but you can sleep for... More

At first glance it is what it is - a budget place. Person at reception when we arrived gave us a double room instead of triple, but instantly offered a triple when reminded that we we three! We did not like 3 single and requests that we be given a room with a double and a single bed, as booked.... More

Hotel Ekazent is an average hotel in a sense that it has everything that you need for a comfortable stay but is a little outdated and oldfashioned. The location of this hotel is very good. Close to the local Metro station and variety of trams and buses nearby. The zoo is just round the corner as well. The breakfasts in... More

Staying in Hietzing

Neighborhood Profile
Hietzing
Vienna’s 13th district has always been in the shadow of Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens, but has interesting hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Allow half a day for the imposing Habsburg residence and the gardens with Gloriette belvedere. Reserve the other half to discover the secret charms of this posh residential neighborhood. Sneak out of the gardens at Hietzinger Tor (Hietzing Gate) and head down Hietzinger Hauptstrasse for Kaiserpavillon (Emperor’s pavilion), an Art Nouveau gem right on top of U4’s metro railtracks. At local institutions Café Dommayer and restaurant Plachutta you can mingle with residents, their families and friends. Dommayer has risen to fame since waltz king Johann Strauss and his orchestra performed there regularly. If you want to go beyond private villa gazing visit Klimtvilla and Hermesvilla. Art Nouveau genius Gustav Klimt had his last studio in a now beautifully renovated villa, which is open during spring and summer. Hermesvilla at Lainzer Tiergarten animal enclosure and nature park is a must for all romantics and fans of Empress Sissi.
