Stayed here during Eurovision so the prices for this hotel, as for every other hotel in Vienna were hiked. Rooms are large clean and basic - think Travel lodge with no frills. Air con in our room did not work. The building is older had has an odd and apparently cut price re-vamp. - Painting all the wall white is... More

This hotel was very clean. The staff were a little uncomfortable in communicating with the guests. The rooms are quite big. A few restaurants are nearby. Not really easy to walk from the train station to the hotel, especially with luggage; there's a bus though.

Very clean hotel, comfortable bed and very helpful receptionist. The room and the furniture is a bit old but is being modernised slowly. I couldn't find any other hotel at this price, this close to the town centar and with the parking at such fair price. A lot of bars and restaurants very close to the hotel.

That is a very nice and clean hotel! Basic settings good for couple of nights if you wish somewhere to sleep and spend most of your times out. Good Value for money and great location. We arrived a bit earlier then 2 o'clock which is the checking time. We parked next to the hotel at underground car park. Do not... More

Value for your money, you get a lot for nice price. Excellent hotel for those are looking for a clean room, a good shower and good service. The hotel is located close to the shopping street Mariahilfer. 2 tram lines near the hotel (less than 100m) which allow you to get anywhere in the city and subway stations. Breakfast was... More

like many hotels in Vienna, it is difficult to enter. However the rooms are comfortable and generously sized, including a well appointed bathroom. It is quite close to the Westbahnhof and on a popular tram route, so it is a most convenient and economical hotel for site seeing and a short stay in Vienna. Our whole family enjoyed the breakfast,... More

- Horrible and unpolite attitude from the staff (esspecially from receptionists and their manager); Due to the incident when receptionist with other guests came into my room at 5.00 am and woke me up, and without explanation they asked me to move my stuff to other room. So I didn’t receive any help from them. - Due to the room... More

We found it at booking.com, with good prices. The surroundings of the hotel are a bit different of what you expect from Vienna - not so well lit at night, even though it is safe, as there are a few restaurants nearby, but so few people passing by. The building is old - there is only one old small elevator,... More

The room was spotless. However, when people say basic they mean it. Limited outlets and none in bathroom. 2 chairs in the room one of which was broken. Even though it is a little farther from the action, Tram 49 stops right on the corner and gets you right to the museum quarter where you can connect to other trams... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
