Stayed in the loft room. The room was huge! Water bed, kitchen, lounge, jacuzzi . Down size for such a great room was the shower- but let down. Breakfast was great - when you got it. A few times we actually gave up! It was a bit like Russian roulette. Mine would turn up but hubby's pancakes were never seen,a bit... More

My family and I recently were in Vienna and spent 4 nights at this truly palatial hotel. We were firstly given the courtesy of early check-in (at around 7:30am) which is mostly unheard of in Europe. We were checked in to one of their grand Bastei Suites (101 Boris III),and from the moment we entered the hotel first, and then... More

Perfection. Palais Coburg is indeed an old school majestic palace, yet it is modern, polished, clean-cut, with all contemporary amenities. It is very central yet isolated and peaceful. Service is excellent and exceptionally friendly. The conference rooms and swimming pool are picturesque. Palais Coburg is an experience in and of itself, allowing the visitor to enjoy both the city and... More

We stayed here for two nights and it was a nice experience. We had a lovely room on two levels with huge windows. The quality of the refurbishment of this building is superb, unlike other local historic hotel buildings, they have beautifully merged both old and modern together in a nice way. Sometimes however the hotel did feel a little... More

We stayed for one night on a romantic visit to Vienna, before Christmas. On arrival at the Palais Coburg, we were warmly greeted by reception staff, and show to our suite, which was most impressive. We were delighted to find a glass of champagne poured for our us on our arrival, along with a selection of delicious delicacies and fruit.... More

Vienna, the historic seat of the celebrated Saxe-Coburg-Gotha Royal Family - from here, Prince Albert set out to woo Victoria, the future Empress of the British Empire. And now one can stay in ultimate luxury in the magnificently restored Palais Coburg, view the beautiful state rooms and sleep where Albert slept. GM Roland Hamberger and his staff are the epitome... A veritable warren of corridors, rooms and suites, the Coburg is a charming hotel that combines traditional and modern superbly. The central city placement cannot be faulted and neither can the food, service or wine. My personal suite was especially comfortable and features on the hotel's website. Nothing better than this in Vienna!

I had stayed at this beautiful hotel three times previously and arranged to come back with my partner. We booked 9 months in advance and were disappointed to get a call a few days before we were due to arrive to explain that the hotel could unfortunately not accommodate us for the first night of our stay. It turned out... More

This is a lovely hotel on a spectacular property. But we felt that staff and service were alternatively rude and lovely, snobby and kind, thoughtful and dismissive. And we never saw anyone who looked like they were in charge. I cannot recommend the hotel. We felt that they felt we didn't belong. It was almost like we might have the... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
