(+) Nice hotel, very close to train station (U-bahn station max 10' walking distance), close to city center (3-4 station for major city sightseeings), clean and quiet room with soft bed, 1-2 decent restaurants nearby to eat in reasonable prices. (-) The location seems somehow "alternative" but feels safe at night.

I've booked Ibis City already several times. The only disadvantage of this hotel is the position. Vienna mainstation and Vienna west are not in immediate vicinity, although it's near several sights of Vienna. I have to mention the very friendly stuff, especially the young Lady with curled hair and glasses, who spread a very friendly and pleasent mood! This hotel... More

The hotel is a typical IBIS hotel, and is comfortable and looks to have been renovated not too long ago. It´s slightly far from the center, and a good walk from the Pilgramgasse U-Bahn, but if you get a good Price, it´s worth it. Employees were very kind and helpful, especially Ahmad, at Reception. I think I like the IBIS... More

Functional room, good soundproofing with window closed. VERY noisy when window open as high buildings either side of road funnel traffic noise. Room cooling was ineffective which made for hot room in March temperatures (room seemed impossible to cool). Expensive food and drink in bar, breakfast more than adequate. Staff very helpful and considerate to foreign guests. Neighbourhood quite seedy... More

In general ok. Had to wait for a while for someone to come to the Reception and after long drive and late hour was not that I was looking forward to. Air con was not working and room was too stuffy. Opening the window was not an option due to the noise outside.

This tidy and friendly hotel was ideal for our short stay in Vienna. Comfortable room with clear concept and good taste. Arrived by car and let it in the comfortable hotel garage: the location is perfect! Really close to 2 underground stations and bus stops. Excellent service, clean room. Rich and tasty breakfast. Very high value/cost rate.

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
