We were in Vienna only for a night and booked this hotel purely going by the fact that this is a chain and hence basic level of standards would be maintained. But to our surprise that wasn't the case. The issues we faced - The air conditioning just wouldnt cool, my friends had the same problem in their room too.... More

Dear Apurva-M-Patel, thank you for taking the time to write us according your stay at the ibis Wien City. I'm sorry that your experiences didn't meet your expectations. We had in Vienna a extraordinary hot period - and an Taxi can be ordered on the reception but the price is not under our authority. I bag your pardon that we... More

Comparing the price to the others Ibis hotels I was in France, Italy, UK is a bit high, but the standard, which is superior and tidiness will reward your stay.It is around 20 mins walk from the city centre where you can enjoy all the most important monuments in Vienna.Morover, you can enjoy there shopping of the most known brands... We stayed for 4 nights n the seventh floor in room 713. The hotel is sandwiched between 2 underground metro stations (margaritengurtel & Pilgram gasse). The hotel is just 2 stations away from city centre (karlsplatz). The U4 green line passes through near the hotel.. We never felt that it was inconvenient. Very friendly hotel staff...decent breakfast... a grocery store... More

i got an early check in and late check out, due to my flights, the availability of the rooms, and the kindness of the staff. the hotel is perfectly located next to supermarket, bus station, and in the middle between 2 ubahn stations. the line is the u4, the perfect one for every tourist attraction and also for airport connections.... When I reserve with Ibis, I expect a clean and rather small room in a generally clean and well maintained hotel with well-meaning but mostly undertrained staff. This Ibis delivers on all accounts and there is no cause for concern about the basic quality of this property. What I usually worry about with an Ibis is location. Ibis is capable... More

With the price tag of 49 Euros and 6.90 for breakfast , one cannot hope for more. It's location might not be the first word of convenience but it is nearby the Red route of a local tourist bus reasonably convenient to grab some coffee during day time. Shower and tv is provided with a separate toilet. Bed is comfortable... More

Pros: - Spacious Room was very clean, even around the edges, under the bed, and behind the furniture - Large, comfortable bed with firm mattress - Good Location - just a short walk to the U-bahn. There is a supermarket right down the street, and several other places to eat nearby - Laundromat right across the street - Decent selection... More

(+) Nice hotel, very close to train station (U-bahn station max 10' walking distance), close to city center (3-4 station for major city sightseeings), clean and quiet room with soft bed, 1-2 decent restaurants nearby to eat in reasonable prices. (-) The location seems somehow "alternative" but feels safe at night.

I've booked Ibis City already several times. The only disadvantage of this hotel is the position. Vienna mainstation and Vienna west are not in immediate vicinity, although it's near several sights of Vienna. I have to mention the very friendly stuff, especially the young Lady with curled hair and glasses, who spread a very friendly and pleasent mood! This hotel... More

The hotel is a typical IBIS hotel, and is comfortable and looks to have been renovated not too long ago. It´s slightly far from the center, and a good walk from the Pilgramgasse U-Bahn, but if you get a good Price, it´s worth it. Employees were very kind and helpful, especially Ahmad, at Reception. I think I like the IBIS... More

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
