This was one of the most basic hostels/dorms I've ever stayed before. Sheets and bed linens are provided, but dorms are basically in bunk style - very minimalist. There was a rather funky smell when I was there (smelt like people who hadn't showered for days) but for that kind of price tag, I guess you get what you pay... More

The hostel has apartments in different building..so probably you wont have a reception and there wont be anybody..its not a good feelig. The apartment was very old and poor equiped. There isnt a dinnig table or chairs, just a fridge, sink and something to boil water. There are no windows in the common air, and the place isnt so clean.... More

The sheets were clean..thank God..but otheriwise this place felt dirty. My husband saw someone brushing his teeth and spitting in the kitchen sink and people left a mess in the common areas..the bathroom was grosse and the apartments themselves felt dirty and old. The service wasn't that great,,the date of arrival we waited 45 minutes for the front desk to... More

The area of the hostel is pretty nice and it looks okay from the outside too. It's the closest hostel to the city center (at least that's what they say). When me and my friend arrived, there were a few other people there - a few younger people that kept to themselves and a few older guys. I wouldn't be... More

We stayed in the Labyrinth Hostel for two nights in June 2014 as a group of three in a four-bed room. The hostel is in a good location, but the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. The staff were quite surly and appeared begrudging to any help required, and there are many rooms (a whole A4 sheet!) of what is... More

So there are good things too. It's bang in the middle of the city centre, and has a couple of nice pubs close by. However, you cannot advertise these rooms as 12 bed, or 6 bed or 8 bed rooms when all of the bedrooms are widely connected, because you are actually in a 26 odd bed room, which is... More

Good price. Reasonably clean with a decent location right next to a tube station. We were lucky to have room D at the back of the hostel and although you have to walk through one giant corridor with 16 bunk beds to get there, you certainly have more privacy. Not the most luxurious of hostels but with the cheap price... More

This hostel is close to the museums of Vienna and the city center, it doesn't have a kitchen or a chill out room, it wasn't clean at all, but it was cheap. If you don't expect anything, it is oké to stay. Don't expect any luxury.

Absolutely to be avoid! I had booked for a room of 8 people. Once there I found out that the rooms where not with their own door so I spent the night in a super long 32 people corridor. Ok it is super cheap, but choose something else!

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
