Great hotel for business or pleasure. We had a Junior suite overlooking the mall in central Vienna. A top location with everything a short walk away. The rooms and decor were lovely and the staff at the front desk organised our side trips. Breakfast was incl and was nice. Most of the staff spoke English well with the expection of... more

Stayed at the Ambassador during Christmas. The hotel is really in the center of everything. Very combinient location. Personnel was extremely friendly and helpful. Stayed in room 124 which had two great balconies but you could here the noise from outside at all times especially during the night, thank god we are heavy sleepers. The room itself was huge, huge,... more

Just returned from Vienna and this magnificent hotel. Located in the town center few steps from the opera, hofburg palace and Stephanplatz you can easily reach every touristic attraction. The personnel is very professional but also friendly, all of them English speaking. The rooms are big old fashioned, some of them with given names of famous persons that stayed there.... more

Good not Great hotel. When you pay 300€ / night I expect quiet, clean and a professional hotel. The staff barely speak English, major construction area around the hotel and no free internet access!!! I requested a non smoking room however my neighbour was constantly smoking so it didn't really matter.... Besides everybody was smoking like crazy in the bar!!!!!!... more

Ended a long business trip to Germany, Slovakia, & Austria here before a the flight back home. Stayed in a business class suite. It was nice. Liked having a balcony. The food was good but expensive. Everything in Vienna is expensive! We looked for an authentic sacher torte to take home. The cheapest we saw was $46 US & most... more

To start with the location of the hotel: simply excellent. You can't get much closer to the center of Vienna. The Hotel itself prides it to be one of the best in Vienna and would guess they are not completely wrong about that. The room I was assigned was huge and in excellent condition. Really old world charme everywhere. Personally... more

We stayed here and loved Vienna, very stylish, opera, architecture and sophisticated. This Hotel was, I'm sure, thee place to go in days gone past, so what is left today is lovely rooms, refurbished & of a good size. These sit over a once grand foyer that has had the misfortune of very modern lifts being installed and parts of... more

Stayed at the Ambassador for a conference nearby. It is a great hotel. Lovely rooms with high ceilings and wooden floors. Very good breakfast and a popular bar in the hotel. It is within walking distance to everything. We also got a great price on the internet. more

Lovely central hotel. We had a large room complete with chandelier and well appointed bathroom, although I could have done with more light over the mirror. We were a little disappointed to come back to our room after lunch and find the bed still unmade. We also felt that the staff could have been more friendly and helpful, specially in... more

We spent two weeks in Europe, and this was one of four hotels that we stayed in. You can see our relative experiences in my other reviews for those respective properties. Our preference, in order: #1 - Hotel Josef, Prague, Czech Republic #2 - Hotel Sacher, Vienna, Austria #3 - Ambassador Hotel, Vienna, Austria #4 - Hotel Wolf-Dietrich, Salzburg, Austria... more
