My friend and I had a couple of extra days in Vienna after business so we booked at this hotel because of the location. We were not disappointed. We were able to walk to numerous sights, shop at tons of stores, and find numerous restaurants and cafés. It's just a few blocks from the hop on hop off bus stop... More

I recently had a 4 night stay at the Hotel Ambassador when I was in town for a conference. It is a grand building situated on Kaerntner Strasse which is halfway between St Stephen's cathedral and the Opera House. The room I stayed in was one of the standard rooms and it was large and comfortable. The bathroom was lovely... More

Birthday treat. Amazing hotel. Two sinks, separate living room, bedroom and bathroom and toilet. We could not afford to eat here, but did use the hotel conference room, to check in our return flight. Luxury lifts, plenty of staff, brilliant.

This is my second visit to this beautiful grand hotel. The rooms are large and well appointed with quality furnishings. Large bathrooms but small WC. The lobby area is small but opens into a lavish first floor bar area. A bit pricey but well located and good for a special treat.

Fine hotel in the center of Vienna. Good sleep quality and fine breakfast (especially like the fresh beet juice). As for the "why not 5" question: well the hotel does not have a fitness center - which in my book is a downside - and something I really missed. You can bring your running shoes and run on the streets... More

What a fabulous location, hospitable staff, comfortable room and glorious view! Hotel Ambassador is right in the heart of Old Vienna, flanked on one side by the shops of Kamtner Strasse, the other side facing Neumarket and the beautiful Capuchin Church (and Kaisergruft). We were fortunate to spend the Christmas holidays in this historic and lovely city. Few experiences can... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
