Stayed here only for a night but was a pleasant stay. We stayed in an 8 bed dorm which was clean and had a shared bathroom which was also clean. Had to pay 2 euros extra for sheets and pillow cases but that was told on booking. Several plugs to use for quests wanting to charge phones and stuff. Luggage... More

Let me talk about facts. We were greeted at this hostel by a young man, generally friendly and informative at first. We soon acknowledged the steep downhill turn we were about to take. After the key we were given for our room which cost us five euros deposit - a disgrace - we walked up 6 flights of stairs because... More

The best thing about this hostel is the location. It is close to Westbanhof and very near to supermarkets and shops. The rooms were good and there was plenty of space. The bathroom was dirty and did not get cleaned everyday - I stayed for three nights. The common room was good and there is light music. So it is... More

Stayed for three nights and found the staff quite disinterested in helping which set an unwelcome atmosphere. The dorm was fine, fairly standard. Shower and toilet all fine but we did have to ask the reception to come and clean room/bathroom as it obviously hadnt Bren done. Free Wi-Fi was hit and miss but there's a communal computer which is... More

Great location next to Westbahnhof Station & a 15 minute walk to Museums Quartier. Clean room & bathroom & comfy bed. Generally helpful staff. Convenient lockers for storage before/after check out. Wifi connection had major issues.

The location very strategic it situated at city central. It is very close to shopping area, less than 2 minutes walk. The train station about 5 minutes walk. The local attraction such as museum, Mozart Park...only less than 25 minutes walk. The room is clean and the bathroom in our room quite spacious. The staff also helpful. It's a good... More

An excellent choice near the city centre. Five minutes from the hostel there is a metro station that takes you to the city. If you don't want to pay the 2,20E that costs the ticket, you can take a walk (15-20 minutes) to the centre. The room we stayed was clean and it had its own bathroom plus a common... More

Welcomed (if you can call it that) by unfriendly staff, the room was unclean and mattress uncomfortable, not in a great area, loud in the common area until very late - this noise was projected up into the room. I wouldn't recommend staying here and I'll never go back.

Dear Guest, Sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay and gave us only one point. You stayed for a budget price in a hostel in a dorm. Our rooms are cleaned daily. When you check in a shared room, the room is already in use from your roommate. Our location is very central. We have an overall score... More

This Hostel was worth the trip to Wien. Great location and staff. We really enjoyed our stay here. It's in a tiny side street next to Vienna's famous shopping street. Currently they are rebuilding it. Seems it's going to be a great pedestrian area soon. Sally und Emily from USA

The hostel was perfectly situated just by the train station (2min walk) and its a 10min journey to go to the city center. The staff was really friendly, were very happy to help with numerous things and had a great experience over there. Breakfast was ok considering the low price and overall didn't have any problems with my room. Perfect... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
