I tremendously enjoyed my stay at this hostel ! The staff was helpful, the rooms were clean and I especially liked the shared kitchens. For what I had to pay for my stay I think I really got a good deal.

I spent only one night at Strawberry Hostel, but I really liked it. This is actually a student dorm open as a hostel only during summer. By the looks of it, I believe the building was a hospital before it was turned into a student dorm. I slept in a 3 bed room with 2 other friends. The room was... More

Good accommodation, central, very clean, quiet in rooms and good facilities. Wifi a bit weak, but Recommended! Staff helpful, but very busy, seasonal accommodation, so not always open for guests. Overall a pleasant experience and would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Love everything about this hostel. U can even cook! They have spacious kitchen. Absolute choice if u are on budget but want something more than just a bed. I have the double room and we have our own private bathroom which is a great plus for a hostel.

Took me back to my first year of Uni as it does feel like first year halls, stopped for one night on a months travel across Europe and was perfectly happy there. Welcoming staff with clean comfortable rooms and a common area with computers ping pong tables football tables and music. It's a real walk away from the centre but... More

Think this budget hostel would get a far better rating from me, if I had visited during the Autumn/Winter months.I visited in July and found the room to be too hot with no fan at all.We kept the window open but that didn't really help a lot...both in terms of keeping the room cool and the noise levels. The bathroom and... My wife and I stayed here for a night as we were passing through and it wasn't why we were expecting. Here is what to expect, remember you college dorm days, where the floors had their own kitchens and you had a R A downstairs watching over the common room. Well that's strawberry hostel. It was exactly that. We had... More

Located on a quiet street about 5 minutes walk from the Westbahnhof station and U-Bahn, so easy to get around the city. 4-bed dorm had single beds which made a nice change and they were pretty comfy but there were no lockers and didn't appear to be any lockers anywhere in the hostel (that I noticed). Wifi only works downstairs... More

No wifi in rooms (or you have to pay 5euro per day o.O), free wifi only in a common crowded room, old furniture and bathroom, it's hard to park a car (almost everywhere it's forbidden), no possibility of taking a breakfast, we recommend this place only to people who don't want to spend a lot of money on hostel and... Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
