We have stayed there for 4 nights and it was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We could buy the Vienna Card there and booked a Sightseeing Tour to Schloss Schönbrunn. We had a nice room on the 2nd floor with view to the curtilage, this side was quiet. It also has a balcony and air condition. The... More

We stayed in another very good hotel in Vienna, then took a side trip. We decided to try another hotel on returning. Das Capri was very easy to get to - up the elevator from the U-bahn and we were right there. The friendly, helpful desk staff greeted us with a chocolate bar for pre-booking, and a glass of sparkling... More

We spent 3 nights in this hotel over last weekend. It is a very understated building but inside we were welcomed by very friendly reception staff and our room couldn't have been bettered. Very spacious, clean and comfortable with good sized bathroom with bath and shower. Also a tray for teas and coffees etc which was replenished daily. The buffet... More

Das Capri is a delightful independent hotel. It is a pleasant ten minute walk along the Praterstrasse boulevard and over the Donaukanal (Danube canal) to the city centre. A ten minute walk in the opposite direction will bring you to an old-fashioned fairground and the 1890s Prater (Ferris Wheel), which featured in the famous evocative film set in Vienna, The... More

First of all,the front desk could not have been nicer and more helpful--all of them! When we needed to find a doctor, the front desk phoned a doctor who came to our room in 30 minutes! The location of the hotel is excellent--right next to an Ubahn stop, and just a short 15 minutes walk to the town center. The... More

We stayed for two nights at Das Capri in December and found it a wonderful hotel and base for our time in Vienna. We arrived in Vienna at 6am and the hotel reception were very welcoming and for a small fee allowed us to check in to our room early. The rooms were comfortable and very spacious. We had a... More

Hotel was easy to find near a major train station Praten and very close to an S bahn. Hotel receptionist was welcoming and informative speaking good English. The room was larger than the UK with a balcony view of the street below and not to noisy. Thought the duvet was going to be to thin as there was no extra... More

You will read a lot of good comments and they are true: Rooms are spacious, staff is very friendly, breakfast is great and the location is very convenient. Unfortunately the place has rooms with walls thin as paper. Our room neighbors spoke Italian but that was the only reasons that we could not follow their conversation. For us the sound... More

We stayed here during Eastern for the first time. We concluded that this hotel will be our first choice if we are visiting Vienna again. The room was clean and good. The breakfast had a lot of choices so you had always something. We didn't encounter any queue's during breakfast but we ate between 07.00 and 07.30. Our room was... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
