This hotel is modern, clean has a great , no fabulous, breakfast and is very close to the subway. And the staff are so friendly. We would go back here in a trice and I can recommend it very strongly to anyone who is gong to Vienna. I am sure there is a lot to choose from but we think... More

Happy to find this clean and modern hotel, an easy 5-10 minute U-bahn ride from Vienna's historic center. Made for the perfect retreat after a great evening, easy to get back to the action the following morning -- and quick access to the airport. Breakfast room was packed, cozy, friendly. Only stumble: staff had some problems processing many people checking... More

Great place to stay - easy to get to from the airport with Nestroyplatz underground right outside. All the staff welcoming and friendly, room spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was excellent. You could walk in to the edge of the city in 10 minutes and catch a tram or underground train without problem.

This is a fantastic place to stay whilst travelling in Vienna. It is close to a U Bahn station and a easy walk into the city centre. The staff are very helpful with check in and nothing is too much trouble. They give recommendations on where to eat out. The hotel is extremely clean and the rooms are very spacious.... More

Stayed at the Hotel Das Capri for four nights during our recent trip to Vienna. The hotel's location is quite convenient (easy 10-15 min walk into the city center and a Metro stop for the U1 line right outside the front door). Rooms were very clean, quiet, and nicely appointed. Good amenities (in-room coffee and tea, a small refrigerator, good... More

Very nice and cosy hotel located not too far from the city centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and breakfast is delicious On the down side; we would have definitely preferred a more comfortable pillow, a better fridge and expected Maintenance work to be carried out during the day rather than during the night

We have stayed there for 4 nights and it was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We could buy the Vienna Card there and booked a Sightseeing Tour to Schloss Schönbrunn. We had a nice room on the 2nd floor with view to the curtilage, this side was quiet. It also has a balcony and air condition. The... More

We stayed in another very good hotel in Vienna, then took a side trip. We decided to try another hotel on returning. Das Capri was very easy to get to - up the elevator from the U-bahn and we were right there. The friendly, helpful desk staff greeted us with a chocolate bar for pre-booking, and a glass of sparkling... More

We spent 3 nights in this hotel over last weekend. It is a very understated building but inside we were welcomed by very friendly reception staff and our room couldn't have been bettered. Very spacious, clean and comfortable with good sized bathroom with bath and shower. Also a tray for teas and coffees etc which was replenished daily. The buffet... More

Das Capri is a delightful independent hotel. It is a pleasant ten minute walk along the Praterstrasse boulevard and over the Donaukanal (Danube canal) to the city centre. A ten minute walk in the opposite direction will bring you to an old-fashioned fairground and the 1890s Prater (Ferris Wheel), which featured in the famous evocative film set in Vienna, The... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
