We thoroughly agree that The Altstadt Vienna should have been awarded best hotel in Austria. We stayed there for 5 days just before Christmas to visit the Christmas markets. The location was superb and we could walk everywhere. The whole team is so friendly. Our daughter and her husband had arranged for us to be upgraded to a suite as... More

I stayed at Hotel Altstadt, Vienna, for three nights at the end of January. Staff went out of their way to make me feel at home right from the get go! They were happy to help with recommendations and share local knowledge of the area. The Hotel itself is beautiful designed and every detail thought out. However the best part... More

The Altstadt Vienna was just recently awarded best hotel in Austria. And I fully agree. I stayed there for many times and it is always like coming home. The whole team is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are just awesome packed with pieces of art and none of the rooms is like the other. The suites are mind-blowing!! Breakfast... More

Great location, helpful and very friendly staff. Spacious rooms and good amenities. Close to museums and shopping. Staff was great at helping us make dinner reservations and ideas for New Year's Eve celebrations. The rooms are large and spacious and housekeeping is excellent. Love the salon in the afternoons, good bar and good variety of drinks. My husband enjoyed the... More

I made a thorough research of the central location hotels in Vienna prior to booking this one. Upon arrival, we found that this hotel was even beyond our expectations. Altstadt Vienna Hotel has several very valuable (at least for us) benefits. It has a perfect location (only a 10 minutes walk) from Museum Quarter (Volks Theater metro station) and Mariehilfer... Really can't say enough good things about Hotel Altstadt, just a fantastic stay. First off - some of the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever met, and I travel a lot. The property is just a short walk from the Volkstheater U-bahn station on the U-3, and if you are taking the CAT train from the airport it's... More

Hotel with unique and charming atmosphere in a Vienna townhouse, in 10 minutes walking distance to Hofburg. The special charm makes the staff that delivers an absolutely perfect service with competent and at the same time familiar closeness. Also the "Salon", which is at the disposal of all guests at any time of the day with fresh pastry and tea,... More

Gorgeous hotel and hotelrooms. The bathrooms are jaw-dropping. Ideally located near the citycentre and very close to the Museumplatz. Stunning breakfast and very design rooms. Helpful staff. Excellent price- quality ratio.

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
