Very good location, helpful stuff, great breakfast, very clean rooms. I don't really have any complaints, my friend and I had a great time in Vienna. We had a room next to the kitchen so it was a little noisy at 7 am but we got up early anyway so it wasn't a major problem!

We were staying 2 nights at Pension Andreas. This is the second time staying here, after 9 years. We loved it. The breakfast is very good, allowing to start the visit of Vienna as early as possible. Location is perfect, 10 minutes walking from the City Hall. Rooms are "old style", while probably this is an old building transformed into... More

As a base for Shopping, christmas markets etc this is well located in a quiet side street. It is located 2nd floor & up, so either use the stairs or the small lift. The staff are friendly & helpful & the place is comfortable & immaculately clean with comfy beds, good pillows & crisp clean bedding. It hasn't been decorated... More

The hotel is well located (only a short walk from downtown Vienna) and the staff is very helpful and friendly . The single beds are very small and the mattresses are old , the bathrooms are small but clean . The breakfast buffet is OK. I liked the flair of the Pension and I will stay there again on my... We have stayed at Andreas now for the last 10 years on our annual visit ti Vienna and have always found it was good value . It,s old traditional style is charming and within walking distance to the Hofburg and Graben, etc. the staff are most helpful and we shall stay there again next year.

I spent there only one night but it was a great experience. Pension Andreas maybe is not big but really cosy. Room for 2 people was quite big with bathroom and shower. We had breakfast in the morning, food very tasty. Andreas is close to the centre and metro stop Rathouse... Definetely I can recommend that place for a visit!

The breakfast was ok and the room for breakfast was enough. Also, the room was clean and they cleaned iur room everyday. The... More

Very small rooms, old furniture and not enough room for clothes or personal things.Food served at breakfast -not that various but it was fresh. The bathroom was clean and provided samples of dush gel.No encounter with room service, during the weekend stay. Staff very cold and a bit unfriendly. Very well located, near the center of the city, behind the town hall.

I stayed here for a few nights in September, because everything was sold out throughout Vienna - three conferences going on at once. It really was just a place to sleep - no real hotel feeling, very old furniture and if you don't know your way around at night you'll get lost. It's on the second floor and has a... More

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighborhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theater, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighborhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicenter. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighborhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
