I spent three nights at the hotel during a business trip to Vienna. The reception was very small and modest as was the whole hotel. The room was average size for one person but definitely smalla for two, the bathroom was small, but clean. Bed ok, the furniture was cheap ones and the walls thin. Cold breakfast was average, the... Good hotel, only two minutes walk from stephan platz. Some nightlife in the surround but, thanks to the double window, there's no noise in the room. The bus from/to airport stops at only 50 meters from the hotel.

My wife and two older children and I stayed at the Marc Aurel hotel early January of this year. Nice and clean room. Only 15 or so miles out from Vienna. Dinner was good, especially a lite broth soup made by the cook. It was so delicious, we ordered it two nights in a row. :P

It's too bad the owners of the Marc Aurel aren't investing some money into updating this hotel. It's a very good location ... easy walk to the Graben or the Schwedenplatz U-Bahn station. We even walked back from the Opera one evening. At least 6 restaurants in this one block. But the signs of maintenance slipping are obvious. We stayed... More

The hotel's central location could not outweigh its other limitations. Our room, while spotlessly clean, was very small and dated in its decor and amenities. Breakfast was satisfactory, but unexciting. Overall, the hotel is overpriced for what it is.

The staff were amazing, very kind and helpful. The rooms are small but comfortable, very clean and well kept. This is a budget hotel but you do not feel this for breakfast, I liked, in particular the "Persian" touch: we had a samovar for tea with high quality indian tea with nice Persian music. A great touch is that the... More

This property is a budget hotel. So know this when you book. It's not the Hilton. However what it is is a comfortable and simple property with an excellent location five minutes walk from Stephansplatz. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast simple but adequate. The room was clean if a touch outdated but this didn't matter to... More

It's an old style hotel with a bad rate quality/price. I payed 116 euros per night breakfast included. It's too expensive according to the quality of the room and the services. It needs e deep restyle. The breakfast haven't got croissants and international dishes like scramble eggs, hot sausages and so on... The position is great.

Hotel is worth the stay if your on a budget and want to be in the centre of the city. Located near one of the arms of the Danube and just 10 minutes walk away from the main area for shops, restaurants and sight seeing. The airport bus will drop/pick you up from the stop at the end of the... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
