Believe it or Not has the beauty of a smart city apartment, the amenities of an all-inclusive hotel, and the socialization opportunities of a hostel. The best of three worlds! Lilly is an absolutely amazing host and manager. She should be running 5 star boutique hotels across the globe! I would rate this hostel with 5-stars. I developed a sore... More

Believe-it-or-Not is not quite a hostel, nor an apartment, but somehow both at the same time. In short, it has been the most comfortable shared apartment I have ever stayed in because it actually is and feels like a luxury apartment in a great neighborhood in Vienna. Instead of a common room you get an amazing living room and instead... More

This has to be one of my favourite places to stay during my 2 weeks in Europe. Upon arrival, it did seem a bit dubious as I was only greeted by Lily via the door-phone intercom... Then I realised we (the guests) had the whole apartment to ourselves - without the host! Woah. It just felt like a house share!... More

Stayed here just over a month ago. It felt like an homely apartment more than a hostel. Lily made my friend and I feel so at home. Facilities are great! With a washing machine, basic food items to cook meals...Such a quirky place I cannot recommend this hostel enough! Thanks again Lily :)

I'm an experienced traveller. I've in 18 countries so far and in hostels most of the times I travelled. And I can say by far this was my best hostel experience ever! The hostel is small and cosy. The place - a 2 bedroom apartament made into a hostel - made me feel a little bit at home: it was... More

This hostel is absolutely wonderful. The kitchen comes with free basics like pasta, rice, cereals, tea, coffee, and there are many other little touches that make this place special: free shampoo and moisturiser, cotton wool, free use of towels, the list goes on! It is very small with only ten beds so I found it easy to make friends. Lilly... More

What can I say. This place is perfect in every sense of the word. Full stop. Period. After almost a week stay I ended up becoming friends with the owner and some of the guests because this is place is not a hostel. It's a shared apartment that attracts some of the most interesting people you will ever get the... More

I've never left a review on TripAdvisor before, but I've never had an experience that deserves a review quite as much as this one. Lilly's hostel is easily the nicest place I stayed at during several months of traveling across Europe, and I ended up loving both the hostel and Vienna so much that I went back and stayed there... It truly is a wonderful Hostel, and all the superlatives that other guests have left are entirely justified. Being here is much like being a guest in the home of an old friend. You leave with a feeling of warmth, having been cared for with generosity of spirit and kindness. The only question is 96%, why so low :)))

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
