We stayed at this hotel near Christtmas, when my girlfriend and I decided to have a qucik weekend trip to Vienna. The hotel was reasonably cheap compared to its great location near the Rathaus, where the main Chirstmasmarkt is. The rooms were comfy and clean and it was everything we expected, definietly our choice should we go to visit VIenna... More

Location of the hotel is great. It is quiet yet it is right across the street from Rathaus and a Christmas market near it and its about 15-20 min walk to Hofburg palace. It is easy to get to the hotel from the airport (40 min) by taking S-Bahn to the Praterstern station and then transferring to U2 U-Bahn to... More

We stayed for a long weekend in Vienna in early December and Hotel Alpha ticked all our boxes for accommodation. The welcoming staff were extremely helpful in planning our sightseeing and some of our evening meals. The rooms were comfortable, neat, cleaned daily and reasonably sized; the street was quiet. Location was superb with a comprehensive range of local shops... More

I stayed here last weekend, its an old hotel and very basic but lovely and cozy and clean. The breakfast is lovely with loads to choose from including tea, coffee, juices, fruits, meats, cheese, different kinds of breads cereals and hot food. There is tea and coffee free of charge 24 hours a day in the breakfast room as there... More

I am a very satisfied customer. Very polite staff, comfortable bed and perfect location for visiting the city and it's Xmas markets. I love Vienna and will keep this hotel in mind for future visits. Complimentary tea and coffee was a nice touch.

We stayed here one weekend during the Advent and were very satisfied. Location of the hotel is excellent, the staff was helpful and friendly, rooms were neat and clean. The garage is small but it served its purpose. Wi-fi was available in room. Breakfast was buffet type and offered a good selection of food. Little objection goes for the room... More

During a business trip in October, my wife and I stayed at Hotel Alpha. Our room was very nice and clean. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The buffet style breakfast (with healthy options) was very good. Assisted by the staff, we scheduled a taxi for our early morning departure to the airport. My wife and I were very... More

Stayed here for one week at start of November. The location is fantastic - in walking distance of many important areas and very close to subway (Rathaus). Breakfast included a large variety of choices both nutritious and healthy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Free wi-fi in rooms works. The main down-side was room size. My double room was really... More

This hotel is a good location. The area is safe, rooms are clean and comfortable, and WiFi is free. The breakfast in the morning is good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Try to get a room away away from the street as it can become noisy in the early morning. Not good if you are jet lagged.

It's close to downtown, parliament buildings, subway, theatre, Sisi's palace, everywhere. The reception is so sympathic and helpful. The room and facilities are so confortable for kids and adults. You will find car park. It is so important in Vienna. If we goes to Vienna oncemore would like to stay same hotel.

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighborhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theater, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighborhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicenter. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighborhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
