The room we stayed in was very spaceous with a nice wiev. Quiet at nigth yet central with only a few minutes walk to the metro or local attractions. just on the dorsteep is a cable car which took us to the opera as well. The decoration was very typical which we loved. Breakfast vas reasonable. We loved it and... More

Good location, very central, we walked everywhere from the hotel. Price was very good Hotel is quite old however it has plenty of character, the staff spoke reasonable english and were very helpfull. We stayed in winter and had no heating issues. Breakfast is just the typical bread, cold meats and boilded eggs, however it is of a very high... More

Interesting place - has a visible baroque interior, which adds taste and color to your Vienna experience. Very convenient in terms of a walking distance to anything and a few affordable eateries nearby (we loved the "Bagels" cafe at the neighboring block, the bagels are better than many New York ones!). The place is OK to spend a couple of... More

Just return from Vienna. So incredible experience. This experience has been completed by staying at Pension Franz. The location of this hotel is one of the best (at this price), just 2 min from Rathaus and 4-5 min walking distance from Hofburg. The general atmosphere is a Viennese one, very chic and cozy. The room we stayed, for a family... More

I would not stay here ever again! I stayed here with my partner and 2 young children, we had our room broken into in the middle of the night in which we woke up to a man in our room! 2 other people in other rooms were also robbed of cash and valuables on the same night! Management and reception... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in September. We were lucky to get a room which had a view of the Votive Church and lots of sunlight during the day. This pension is near the historic centre and also close to Train Station. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel has an old world charm to it, which we... More

That really states the mood of the place... shabby, run down, disinterested staff. You had to ask for the coffee and then it was of ... well a sad, sad state for a city that prides itself on a good cup of coffee. Room needed the window open for coolness only to open onto a alley/ center courtyard that featured... More

The service started off on a bad foot the minute we arrived when the desk clerk didn't offer to wheel my bag down the hall. Yes, that is minor, but when I returned to the desk 15 mins later the clerk informed me that I would only be able to stay 2 nights instead of the 4 nights originally booked... More

- this place is in a good position and is well priced for Vienna. However, I rang and emailed to make sure the 4 bed room had 4 beds- because I was meeting my sons in Vienna - and wanted to stay 2 nights before moving on. Well we got one double bed and a fold out couch which had... More

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighborhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighborhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
