I wanted cheap and cheerful, preferably a hostel but my hand was forced last minute and I gambled on a slightly pricier option of a hotel. Bad choice. Other than it's reasonable location in a pretty large city - no other aspect met my expectations. My room had no air-com, the tv didn't work and my reception on arrival was... More

Dear Guest, we are sorry about the missunderstanding with the room. We also offer other rooms with shower and toilet or only with shower - it always depends on you booking. So it seems that there has been a missunderstanding by your booking. We also have an Air-Condition in our superior rooms. Further you write that you staff was hostile,... More

This hotel was adequate considering its competitive rate and friendly staff. The area did seem to provide a home for a plethora (genuinely around 50) tramps, but actually a walk to the centre of town is only 20 minutes long. The hotel has a nice beer garden, crucial on some of the 37° days, but sadly no air conditioning, which... More

We are staying all the time when visiting Vienna, at this hotel. It is two minutes walk from both Praterstern and Nestroyplatz U-Bahn stops and also numerous trams and buses and Praterstern rail station. It is a walking distance from the amusement Park Prater. The hotel is in an old building, with very big rooms ( at list ours was... More

The hotel is well situated not far from the City Centre (easily accessible by underground or walking). The place is well maintained and clean. I just think that reception could be more attentive but this is not a major problem. Price was very good - the cheapest hotel option at the time of my booking. In general, I recommend this... More

I recently stayed here for ten nights whilst on holiday in Vienna. The first thing that struck me was the great location. It is two minutes walk from both Praterstern and Nestroyplatz U-Bahn stops and also numerous trams and buses and Praterstern rail station. There are also lots of restaurants and two good supermarkets nearby, and of course the popular... More

I stayed 1 night at this hotel. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Stinky rooms, dirty reception, no credit cards accepted. Because it was an emergency stay I needed some confirmation from the hotel afterwards. All my e-mails without any response. Never more.

The advantage of this hotel is, that is close to Prater and Vienna center. Hotel looks from outside nicely, but room was bad looking. Bathroom was unpractical and old looking, furniture is the cheapiest I have ever seen and ceiling had spots from the water. Doors from rooms are very thin, we had neighbor, who smoked marihuana and coughed all... More

Hotel Praterstern is a 1-star hotel extremely well situated near to the city center and next to two metro stations. The room was very spaceful with a quite large bathroom and an excellent bed. Airco was working well. The breakfast room is not perfect but if the weather permits you can have your breakfast in the charming courtyard. With a... More

Very close to station "Praterstern/Wien Nord" by (S1, S2, S3 or S5) from Wien Mitte . We arrived at night and reached the station ,but after that it was bit confusing to find the hotel with out GPS , there is a big circle in front of the station and difficult to decide which "left" to take as per the... Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
