My husband and I did a short visit in Vienna - three nights only. The Hotel met our expectations. Price-quality ratio was excellent, and the room, clean and quaint. We liked the location: the area was not touristy, and we liked the feeling of being in an neighborhood with locals doing their everyday business. The Hotel owners were very helpful... More

The staff is very friendly and accommodating; we got there early in the day, and they figured out how to get us a room. Rooms are very nice, clean and feel homely. Breakfast is very good as well. Definitely recommend this hotel, especially for the price of stay...

Great place to stay for a few days with charming and individual rooms. The rooms have a 'retro-chic' which I liked, generous breakfast buffet is included and the staff is very helpful. It is a little off the city center, but the public transport connection by tram is perfect, and e.g. the Ringstrasse can be reached in less than 15... More

Room has all the modern amenities like flat screen TV, good wireless internet and hair dryer. Room 331 is large for a European room but might be considered small by some Americans. Nice desk and refrigerator with 2 beers, 2 waters, and an orange drink compliments of the house (that never happens). Faces the street and if you leave the... More

Our stay in Hotel Kugel was wonderful. The owners Johannas and Christina were helpful and gave great recommendations including interesting historical facts about Vienna. The location was perfect for us. Easy access to the tram and buses. Good value for the money and very nice morning breakfast. Would stay there again and recommend it to others.

The service sets Hotel Kugel apart from other hotels. This was our first trip to Vienna, coming from the US. Via email my wife said we wanted to see the Lipizzaner horses and Vienna Boys Choir. Kugel got us good seats to the Taste of Vienna and we saw both at the same time. The person behind the desk was... More

My daughter and I traveled Eastern Europe in September and made Vienna our hub. Train, bus, shuttle travel were all great from there. At Hotel Kugel we found our home away from home. It was a comfortable and helpful base for our travels. The rooms weren't the classiest we had stayed in, but Christina and Johannes couldn't be beat for... More

Very nice hotel and really well situated. Being in a historical building there are the usual issues one have to expect when traveling through Europe, e.g. the shower is very small (though the bathroom itself is just fine, and spotless clean), there are no air conditioner (not that I needed any). Besides that, the bedroom is quite large, nicely decorated... More

Thank you so much for the absolute pleasure of your stay in our little historic hotel. It is so rewarding for us to witness that our selected suggestions did find such a positive response. First good stuff: Location is great, close to museum quarter, shopping, metro st, self serve laundry, bus/tram stop, parking etc. You can keep charging your stuff in the room when not in the room,a s the key doesn't need to be in a slot to activate the electricity in the room. Bad stuff: bed was not comfortable, saggy in the... More

Dear guest, Thank you so much for staying with us and your helpful comments. Unfortunately, and we really do apologize for that – was it not possible to offer you a free upgrade into our lavishly decorated Ashley rooms, and therefore you had to stay precisely in the room you had booked - a standard twin bedroom - moderately priced... Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
