Hotel Kugel is an outstanding small hotel in the heart of Vienna. The owners and staff are gracious and helpful, going out of their way to make valuable suggestions on the best way to experience Vienna. The buffet breakfast, included with the stay, features an array of delicious offerings. The rooms are small but are in keeping with old world... More

My wife and I stayed at Herr Roller's Hotel Kugel in April 2015; we are Americans. It was my 6th trip to Europe, but our 1st to Vienna. We have stayed in many good hotels, but never any of the over priced "swank" places. We prefer places like the Kugel; a beautiful older designed outside with a well maintained inside,... More

Phantastic hospitality and friendliness of the whole Kugel-team. Big variety of rooms of completely different style, but all of them so lovely rooms. Outstanding breakfast. Not perfect WLAN-connection. When you are not active in internet - it breaks down and you should write login-password again. But indeed internet is not the most important thing in such outstanding city! Just come... More

A stone's throw away from Hoffburg, several major museum and lot of good restaurants... At a walkable distance also from opera and the post part of the city. A warm service. A bit noisy due to the Trams. But very conveniently located, in a nice and lively area.

When we come back to Vienna we will be staying here. This hotel has: -Delicious breakfast. -Fast internet. -Friendly staff. (The staff here are multilingual and willing to help plan day excursions such as visiting the wine country, going to museums, and figuring out the transportation system) -Great location. -Comfortable beds.

Stayed at the Hotel Kugel as part of Rick Steeves tour of Austria. Perfect location. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping and transit. Good walk to the city centre. Reception is small given the number in our tour group. Rooms were clean. Front desk staff friendly. Only complaint would be the size of the bathroom and shower area.

I cannot speak highly enough about Hotel Kugel. From booking with them to checking out, they were nothing short of fantastic regarding the package, choice of room and tips how to get to the hotel and what to do when in Vienna. We opted for the Romantic package which included the Vienna Card (invaluable travel and discounts to many sights),... More

My family and I stayed at the Hotel Kugel for the Easter weekend. The staff was very nice and ready to answer any question or request! The room was quite big and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bed linens were freshly ironed! The only two negative points of the room: the bathroom was a bit old with the... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
