The hotel Post is very convenient for the underground and good value for efficient overnights. The desk cleark was very helpful suggesting that I take a bus to the airport rather than the subway. The airport bus leaves Schwedenplatz every half hour and is cheaper than the subway or taxi.

Back again this year for a 2nd time. The rooms have been renovated, the kitchen has improved the quality of their food, and the reception staff were professional, friendly and organised. A vastly improved experience from last year.

The hotel won me over with the location! Just steps away from the metro stop, about 200 meters or so. You cannot beat being so close to the metro, you can hop on and go anywhere in the city. Large rooms, nice shower. The staff was pretty friendly, too. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend staying... More

Excellent location and friendly staff on a quiet street in the city center. The reception is newly renovated, but the upper floors are old and not very nice. My room was poorly cleaned with a lot of hair in the bed and in the toilet. Gross! All facilities in the room were old and run down.

I had a week in Vienna during a conference. I decided to pass on the expensive 5 star hotels and I selected a cheaper but by no means lesser hotel, Hotel Post, on Fleischmarkt in a side street off the Altstadt about 5 minutes walk from St Stephens's Dom. The service was always friendly and helpful. My room, overlooking the... More

It's not the Ritz but if you want a hotel that's reasonable and efficiently ran then book here. The rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean and equipped with fridge, safe and wi-fi. Beds are comfortable. You may want an extra pillow because they are very soft. Buffet style hot & cold breakfast is included. Stafarehelpful, curtious

Location of this hotel is terrific - close to Old Town attractions and also underground train system on your door step. Hotel is old but clean. I had a single room with shared bathroom which I was worried about but never had to wait for facilities and they were completely booked out. Breakfast in cafe catered for all tastes and... More

The hotel rooms here are huge. Even the halls are so wide with very high ceilings. The building is clearly historic but with that the rooms are a bit shabby-chic. The hotel's location can't be beat for the price. My room was booked with a breakfast included and it was a very good breakfast.. Continental treats but eggs and bacon... More

I agree with Peter H. The location is good for everything - river trips, sightseeing, hop on hop off busses, restaurants, etc, but the Hotel itself is an average 3*. Room was OK, shower hot, quiet. Breakfast was typically , but the coffee was great. Could do with coffee/team making facilities in the rooms, and the room safes will NOT... More
