We stayed for 5 nights and the hotel was excellent, with a very friendly staff that provided us with the best service. I particularly enjoyed the overall atmosphere given by the old "wienerisch" style of the furniture and interior decorations.

I first learned about this apartment hotel on city of Vienna's official tourist magazine in March of 2007. I immediately walked through the hotel next morning from a rather expensive and an unattractive nearby hotel and confirmed their vacancy. The hotel was fully booked, but the staff kindly coordinated a room (single room on this occasion) for me for 3... More

These apartments are a perfect blend of the traditional luxurious living coupled with modern amenities. The huge rooms, the artistic elements like the aesthetic chandeliers and the wooden flooring are worth special mention. Service was great as well. The staff helped us out in planning our day tour. Breakfast was delicious. These apartments made our stay in Wien a memorable... More

Rothensteiner Apartments are genuinely outstanding place as they are an amazing combination of hotel and apartments! For your money you get here a beautiful big apartment furnished and decorated in classical style, but at the same time well-equipped with kitchenette including fridge, electric teakettle, electric cooking plate, as well as flat-screen TV and air conditioner. Although it is possible to... More

If not for the squeaky floors and slippery toilet tiles, I would have given it 5 stars! Lovely place! Classic design and cossy architecture gives a most welcoming feel! It is quite a distance from the main station. Felt a bit far when we arrived. But after a few days, we realised it is not that bad. Walkable to most... More

I recently stayed at this establishment with my family of 5 and we enjoyed it immensely. Out of the many apart hotels we have stayed in while traveling throughout Europe, this one is my favorite. The hotel is housed in an older building with lots of character (high ceilings, wooden floors, crown molding, big and open rooms with modern bathroom... More

We stayed at the Rothensteiner for 3 nights. The location was fantastic. One could walk to the Ringstrasse or take the bus (48A) to the Volkstheater and the UBahn station The bus to go to the city was 2 blocks away and on return was 1 block away. Our room was huge and had lovely antique furniture. The bed was... More

We were 2 couples who had a giant two-bedroom suite, complete with kitchenette. It was quite elegant in a old fashioned but comfortable way. The owner was friendly and accommodating allowing us to leave our bikes for collection at a later date The location is 5 minutes from the Volkstheater U bahn stop with a number of Bistros and other... Rothensteiner is a nice place to stay - decidedly oldfashioned. Our room 4/32 was large and facing Neustiftgasse. The one direction street is quite noisy. Nice breakfast and roof terrace. The hotel is walking distance to the Ringstrasse (approx 10 minutes to Volkstheater). Bus 48a from Myrthenstrasse takes you to the metro at Volkstheater. My reservation is the shower that... More

Our family of four had a giant two-bedroom suite, complete with kitchenette. I was surprised at the elegance -- almost felt like we were living in pre-WWII Vienna! The breakfast was quite sumptuous and the owner was friendly and very accommodating. The location is 5 minutes from the Volkstheater Ubahn stop and we found everything else quite convenient (we are... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
