We stayed here for four nights. The location is great and all the major sights are within easy walking or tram access. The rooms are large and decorated in what I imagine as old world Viennese charm. The breakfast was sufficient and the service very friendly. The only problem was some street noise from the bar (Medusa) downstairs, but that'... More

Haphazard maintenance, paper-thin walls, top two floors (mini-elevator may or may not be working) included Breakfast includes instant coffee (real coffee costs an extra few euros) Internet may or may not work. Owner was cordial in that brusque sort of way. If you want a Hostel, you can find one much cheaper. Although this "pension" is well located, there are... More

Dear Guest, We are sorry to read that Pension Aviano didn't fullfill your expectations. Since we had no break down of the Elevator for the last couple or years and since we also had no "non Arrival with no check in " at the Reception we are a bit curious about your booking. With not checking in it seems that... More

Pension Aviano is just as they describe themselves in they internet site, a secret place inside a beautiful capital city. With its large and lovely rooms, the windows opened on an internal and relatively silent courtyard, you will rest from a walk to another in this crowded and ever-living city. Breakfast is varied and very good. It's placed just in... More

We had a lovely 3 night stay here in February 2015. The rooms nice sized, and the breakfast excellent! The staff friendly and helpful. Great location, close to Opera museums and shop district . Hope to stay there again on my next visit; it was a good find.

I needed to find a comfortable place to stay close to some of the main attractions and important for us is that we have a triple room. So I picked Pension Aviano and the choice could not have been better! Located in the middle of the city center, very easy reachable by taxi, but on the edge of a pedestrian... More

My wife and I stayed here for three nights, and could not have been happier. The service is wonderful, the rooms nice sized, and the breakfast excellent! The location is perfect for visiting old Vienna, or the opera. The price is excellent considering the location. The staff could not have been friendlier. They gave us pointers for finding our way... We stayed here on the first leg of our two week honeymoon. It was incredible! It was clean, comfortable and close to major tourist sites (which some people might not like, but since we were only there a few days it was great for us). When we first arrived the woman at the front desk was so gracious, as was... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
