The hotel is reasonably central, it is very clean, we had a decent sized room which was comfortable and warm. The buffet breakfast may not suit everyone as the only hot food was eggs with scrambled eggs available every day and fried only twice in our six day stay. There was however a wide selection of other things, cereal, fruit,... More

I stayed here for a business trip 5 days and felt this hotel is completely overpriced. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel and the service is poor. Me and my colleague felt the bad vibe as soon as we walked in. Te receptionist, a middle aged man and his assistant, a younger girl had very short answers to... More

Ok..so the Hotel isn't in the smartest part of the city but it is only yards from the local subway. I stayed for 3 nights which worked out at £70 a night for bed and breakfast, for value this was superb..the room was big and had a kitchenette. The breakfast room was a little cramped but the choice of food... More

A quaint li'l place with friendly yet professional staff, clean and cozy rooms. They offer a sumptuous spread for breakfast. It is away from the city centre but very close to the train station, so not a biggie.

Our tour group stayed at City Hotel Deutschmeister in late June 2015 for a couple of nights. Staff were accommodating and friendly, although the front desk individual also had to serve as the barkeep. The two elevators are very small (not unusual for older European hotels), and those of us on lower floors found it quicker just to walk a... More

Stayed in this hotel several times this year on business trips. Overall - nothing exceptional, but a good hotel and a good value. Location is good. Not exactly central, but still you can walk to the city center and the U4 station is very near. The hotel has two buildings. The main building faces a courtyard, so it is very... More

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Everything was good- not luxurious, but clean, satisfying and pleasant room and service. The location is the best part- it is 3 min. walk of a metro station. Suits travellers who are not too spoiled, and who want to save money but sill want the basic standards to be fulfilled.

Hotel is in a good location near the university district close to the Danube canal. Metro and tram stops are only a couple of minutes away. We asked for a twin room and this wasn't done. When we asked for help to separate the beds the receptionist didn't know how and we had to work it out our selves. Breakfast... More

Spent 4 nights here recently while on a business trip. Its billed as 4 stars, but more realistically, I would describe it as a comfortable 2 star. The hotel itself is set back from the main road - so its quieter. The room was fine, and the bathroom/shower was good. But it was always very hot in the room (in... More

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighborhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighborhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
