A clean, comfortable, hotel well placed for the attractions of Vienna close to public transport (trams, bus and underground). You get a good impression as you enter the hotel, where you are faced by the reception located in a large area which includes an island bar and a lounge area. A small business area is available with a computer and... More

This is an upscale hotel. The rooms are large by European standards. Our room had a table and two chairs to relax in. Everything is of high quality. The breakfast buffet is very good. No need to stop sightseeing for lunch after that! The hotel staff was very good and helpful. English is not a problem.l

Great base for a romantic weekend. Fairly basic hotel and slightly out of the way but no complaints. Breakfast only in the restaurant but a great selection. Food available in the bar was good and good value

We were in Vienna for a short 3 days but found this hotel to be just perfect. It's close to everything and we were able to walk to Hofburg, Stephansdom and the main shopping area very quickly. The hotel is probably a business hotel but we had 2 rooms interconnecting on the 3rd floor. The rooms were spotless and roomy... More

Stayed here 12-16 June and found the location ideal. Just on the edge of the Museum Quarter in a quiet road but within easy walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go in Vienna. Our room was on the top floor (6th) with a lovely view over the rooftops to the Hofburg Palace. All the staff we met from reception... More

Great location, everything is close to visit, all historical attractions within walking distance. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is nicely renovated. The room is clean, a little outdated though.

This was our second visit to the Maria Theresia. We specifically asked our agent to book this because of our experience the first time. The staff cannot be faulted. Having arrived far too early to check in, we were able to leave our bags in the care of the hotel until we returned later. On the last day we checked... More

This is a great hotel in a really great area close to transport & sights. Most of the hotel staff were really helpful and friendly and the food was wonderful. Would stay again and would highly recommend to others.

View from my room was pure magic. The sauna is great. everything is spotless and comfortable. I will stay here again. The neighborhood is young and upscale. Good restaurants within walking distance. Only 200 meters from the subway, which is cheap, clean and comfortable. Good train connection to airport.

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
