We were not terribly impressed with this hotel. We had a double room, but noticed that we only were given one (threadbare and thin) towel. We also only had one pillow. When we asked at the desk on our way out for the night, they replied that they would get to it when they could, but there was no housekeeping... More

Close to all public transportation and shopping as well as a lot of sites are within walking distance. A good location for solo or family travellers. The price was excellent especially when your transportation pass and breakfast are included.

Wonderful hotel with big and comfy, clean rooms. Great breakfast with variety of products. Perfect location - there is a metro station just next to hotel. One of the big advantages is that you get a free transport card - we saw literary the whole city. I recommend this place!

My husband and I stayed here over the Christmas period. Absolutely excellent location, very close to Westbahnhof. (We found it easiest to get there by bus direct from the airport - only one stop on the way and no lugging cases around). Courteous reception from the staff who were happy to give information about Vienna and maps. We had an... More

Great location on mariahilfer strasse. Nice clean rooms. Modern bath room with a shower. There is free wifi though it is very slow. The breakfast was great with good selection of cheeses and meat. The hotel lobby and public areas are also very clean and modernly designed.

Nice hotel. Very friendly and helpful stuff. Good location, near subway (10 min from city center, or 30 min by feet). Free wifi is pretty slow and you waster you can pay. The best - pancakes at the breakfast. The worst - sound isolation between the rooms. We heard the neighbor's TV from one side and shower from another.

Is not very good if you are at the shopping, is at the end go Mariahilfer, near the rail station.... But is very close tot the U, and the tram station. The breakfast is ok but not very good in choices.

I did a rail tour of mainland European cities over Christmas 2013, and the then hotel some way outside Vienna was not good. So over Christmas 2014, doing the trip again, they changed the hotel to this one very near the Westbhan station - with its very easy accessibility to so many 'must-sees'. I was worried when I saw the... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
