Just returned from a conference in Vienna. Was allocated to stay at the Hotel Artis. In Rennweg and about 2 minutes from S Suburban Railway stop. Location therefore convienient. As I said in the title the room is like in a 2 stars hotel, very modest. But for the money we paid for 3 nights for 2 adults and one kid (240 euro) was ok. Fold up bed was not comfortable, windows open only a notch, no air with 90 degree temperatures makes for a very uncomfortable night sleep. If it wasn't for the cold showers we would have suffocated. That was not a 4 star hotel. When we entered in our room we saw that mini-bar was 3/4 empty and when we call the reception they said is ok, we fix that tomorow! And they did that... Room #113 needs the walls to be painted - very dirty. Maid needs to dust daily. Very noise when opening the windows. The air circulation is very poor or not working at all. Breakfast area and food were good. more

I am not usually one to complain, but how the Artis ever got four stars is a total mystery. It should be referred to the Viennese Tourist Board for review. They claim, they have 4 stars, but it isn't definitively true. The bathroom is so tiny, that you are not almost able to turn around in it. My bathroom smells very badly.
