The staff are pretty friendly and there was a great range of choices for breakfast (hot and cold), which is in a very nice old-world room. Its also 10 minutes to Westbahnhof train station, with the U6 line connection just across the road. The bed was great, very comfy, but my stay was spoiled by a heating issue that never... More

Spent two nights at early November paying £41 per room in a very spacious room and comfortable bed, The room even has a big sofa to sit on. Nice bath room. It includes a very good spread of breakfast. It is in very good location too. Was told the area is not the best but we did not hang around... More

A place where you can feel that you are in Vienna from the moment you wake up! Hotel is located in a an old beautiful building, the rooms are very spacious with high ceilings. There is an amazing glass veranda that serves as a reception area that leads to a charming garden. The decor is very tasteful and all the... More

If you're arriving in Vienna by train, here's how to get to Hotel Altwienerhof. From the Hauptbahnhof, take Tram 18 (direction Burg-Stadthalle) to Gumpendorfer Strasse. At that stop, cross under the adjacent U-Bahn bridge. You'll see Herklotzgasse across the street and a little to the right. The hotel is just up Herklotzgasse on the right. As for the hotel itself,... More

Small hotel not really ideally located for sightseeing. One can walk to Schonbrunn in about 45 min., but must take the trolley or underground otherwise which are conveniently a block away. The rooms are clean, although the carpets were stained. The breakfast is adequate and the staff are friendly, but in a very nice, cozy room. It's website indicates a... More

I'm amazed at other people's reviews of this hotel, we must have been given the worst room in the place. Ours was a weird shape with a toilet with no handbasin on one side & bathroom with no toilet on the other. A ridiculous looking walk in wardrobe & filthy carpet. No wifi at all & no English t.v channels.... More

Staff was friendly and helpful but the hotel needs new plumbing. We had to turn the bathroom faucet on in order to get hot water in our shower and even then it fluctuated wildly. This really put a damper on our trip as it was already damp and chilly in Vienna and we didn't have a hot shower to come... More

this is more an apartment type room. It had a kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom and bathroom. It was a huge space. But if it was summer, there is no air conditioning. Luckily we were there late in summer so we didn't need the a/c but we did open the windows to get fresh air in. But I would... More

The room was very large, even by U.S. standards. Bathroom was roomy and beautiful, recently remodeled. The gentleman at the reception desk in the evening was a delight. Very friendly and very helpful. His advice was excellent. Location of this hotel is very close to Westbahnhof Station and right across the street from the subway. Extremely easy to get anywhere...
