This is NOT a 4 star hotel! We were planning to stay for 2 nights, but had to leave in the middle of the night and move to a different hotel due to the intolerable heat in our room. The hotel does not have AC in any of its rooms and we were only provided a small&weak fan that blew... More

Stayed 3 nights here with my girlfriend and my mother in rooms at the backside of the hotel. The service of the staff was just excellent. On arrival me and my gf were upgraded from a superior double room to a junior suite, without any extra charge. Throughout the rest of our stay the staff were always friendly, very thoughtful... Couldn't have found a better deal. The hotel is ideally located, has spacious, clean rooms, very good breakfast, free wifi and free non-alcoholic drinks for mid day to mid night. The staff at the front desk was very courteous and forthcoming. Few of the guests complained about no air-conditioning but our room had it and we had no complaints. Would... More

Very nice hotel with perfect location (to MUMOK). "Mariahilferstrasse" is a block away. Very clean. Around there are many nice restaurants and grocery stores. Afternoon (after 12h) drinks (coffee, juice) in the lobby are free. The parking, although cost € 20, is very convenient. The only downside of the hotel is that there is no triple rooms.

Never never been this hotel again! There is no air-con in the room, when it's 35 degree outside, the room is very hot, higher than the corridor, than lobby. At least 34 degree! Esp at night, outside is lower than 25 degree the room is still higher than 32 degree! We lived in the red room. Maybe the "good" comments... More

Myself and a friend stayed here for 2 nights. The staff were really friendly and polite and were quick to offer and help or advice we needed. On the down side, once some rooms in the hotel have air conditioning and we had one without. The room was warm, on request the reception gave us a fan which helped but... More

The Good: Location and staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and the shower is good. The Bad: Thin walls so you hear everything The Ugly: There isn't ac in all the rooms. We didn't have ac but we're given a fan on the first night (after asking) but it didn't make a bit of difference (mainly because... More

First, the plus points - good location, very clean, and excellent breakfast. Secondly, the not so good points. My wife and I, and 2 family members had two blue rooms at the back of the hotel which overlooks a side street. Both rooms were non-airconditioned. I don't know if this applies to all rooms. Our rooms were small, and on... More

Nice breakfast- 15 euros pp to include many varieties of coffee, eggs and bacon, juicer to make your own healthy concoctions, yogurt and cereal bar, breads and pastries, and meats and cheeses. Nice variety and liked the fact we could go back for more, buffet style. Clean rooms- our room was on the Red side of the hotel which I... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
