Once a hangout place for artists etc. now renovated typical chain hotel with faded glory. Close to metro and tram stops. Close to main shopping street. Some bars nearby. Breakfast above average. Clean, bit smallish room.

This is definitely an old hotel but we were lucky to get renovated rooms. Not in the centre of the city, but well connected. The room was clean and spacious, the check in quick and the breakfast good. No coffee / tea in the room though. Wifi was speedy in the lobby. Rooftop has a sauna, spa and a small... More

For my first visit to Vienna - a 3 night/4 day trip - I wanted to stay somewhere central but not right in the middle of the old town, the Wimberger fitted the bill. In fact, the location is excellent. It is just 5 minutes walk from Westbahnhof U-bahn station which lies on the U3 line (orange), and you'll just... More

Near Wien westbanhof station is a very good solution for those people that looks much more to the trip that not to the form. Point of strenght are cleaning, large rooms, Spa, and, very close to hotel, the tram stop. In few minutes you are everywhere. It is not in the centre of the city. Recepion people very gentle and... We stayed at this hotel in beginning of June 2015: booked 9 rooms. That was busy time in Vienna and that was only available choice for us. First negative impression was at check-in: we arrived at 7:30 in the morning after overnight flight. Reception has informed us that none of our 9 rooms are available before 2:00PM, alternatively they may... More

I was really impressed with great breakfast - which is important if you plan all day sightseing. Rooms are clean but interioris look like they need renovation. Non functional WIFI in 4stars hotel is strongly disappointing especially when it was one of seach criteria. If i would pay regular room rate and came here to work I would be really... More

This hotel is a modern construction located in a relatively quiet neighbourhood. Very comfortable place with very well furnished rooms that are clean and tidy. The hotel has a nice ambience within and outside. The best part is the restaurant which is very spacious and provides nice seatings with good view of outside. The service is very prompt with a... Pros: It is located not too far from Westbanhof - about a 5-10 minute walk. It has a sauna, spa and a small gym. Cons: WiFi was pathetic. The login page is difficult system to navigate when trying to connect and there is next to no WiFi reception in the room (you will need to sit by the door to... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
