The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, using bizarre excuses to justify their inflexibility. There was no plug in the bathroom basin and the concierge explained that if he gives us a plug we might flood the hotel. The room was very cramped, the shower had black mold and was tiny. There were not enough hooks or rails to hang wet... More

The good things: location and breakfast. It's just a short walk away from the Prater (park & metro station), that's a plus. The breakfast was also quite solid and diverse. Neutral: free wifi and service. The wifi was indeed free, but it wasn't always working. When working, speed was good. The staff was not that friendly, but on the other... More

After reading the reviews of other visitors I was afraid that our stay would be bad. But I was wrong. The single room I stayed in was big enough for me. The floor was not carpeted. Flat screen TV, telephone and a mini fridge where I stored my own drinks, etc. The only thing I can criticize about the room... More

This hotel was located within walking distance to the Prater, the 100 Wasserhaus and about a 25 minute walk to the centre of Wien and the Stephansdom. Public transport was everywhere so it was very easy to get around all times of day and night. The rooms were pleasant, clean and well presented and there was also an elevator which... More

The location of the hotel is a little off the beaten track, and initially difficult to find. We were given the room right in the roof, and as we had booked a triple room, the 3rd bed was no more than a camp bed. The room itself was okay, and the breakfast was not bad, but I don't think that... More

Location - although the location was close to the subway station, it was in a shady area Staff- staff were not friendly Rooms - rooms were old and made you feel like they weren't clean. Shower/bathroom was small. There was no room to put any toiletries. Breakfast - breakfast was not good and the food tasted stale. Would not stay... More

During a business meeting I wanted to use a restroom in the Hotel, but wad forced out of the jotel by an extremely rude manager of the hotel with the words: As long as you don't pay for a room, you can't use the restroom.

One of the best things during stay in this hotel was breakfast. Beside that, hotel got very good location only couple of minutes far from underground. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Great value for money.

Booked this hotel after reading reviews; found most of them accurate: good location next to the main Prater train and metro station, friendly and helpful staff, nice and fresh breakfast, room was comfortable and spacious. In short, highly recommended for touring and visiting Vienna while on a sensible budget. You can hear the train goes by close but it didn't... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
