We received at the hotel for a 3 night stay. At the reception I was gladdly impressed that the guy new our language (romanian). The hotel has a private parking place for 15€/night and a very slim road down to the parking place underneath the hotel. Be carreful as my 2015 new passat fitted by a few inches. We discovered... To sum it up you get what you pay for. The decor is very dated (orange 1970s type chairs in the bedrooms) but mattresses seem new and very comfy, bedding is white cotton and spotless as are bath towels. Bathroom was also a very clean although taps a little tarnished etc but I've paid more and seen far worse. We... More

Loved it. We stayed during the Christmas 2015 week. The room was clean, the staff was polite and it was a great value for the money. The tram is very near and you're also very close to the Mariahilfer street.

It is a decent hotel. We got offered a room first on our arrival and when we entered the room we were a bit taken back. The corridor was smelly and the room was having a bad smell. We went and informed the reception and they offered us another one which was better. There is no kettle or coffee available... More

This hotel doesn't even deserve one star !! 1 - The receptionist stole our money !!!!!!!!!! And we did not receive any help in solving the problem. The other receptionist and the Logistic manager refused to call the police, they were VERY RUDE !!! 2 - The customer service was extremely bad !! 3 - The hotel was dirty, the... More

Great location, nice rooms, excellent location (very short walk to U-Bahn and shopping), great price for rooms. Best thing: excellent staff who took the time to make me feel welcome and appreciated as a guest. Would definitely stay again!

Location of the hotel is perfect - two minutes from metro station. In the neighbourhood there are plenty of wonderful shops and small restaurants. Wifi works very well, and our room was as comfortable as one could imagine, ecpecially the bathroom there. But the best thing to have was the breakfast - it's gorgeous. We loved it.

Few things in our room were actually broken and we were afraid to touch anything. The staff are very friendly and even gave our little one special present. Location is near a metro station, so the center is just 15 minutes away by metro. The palace could be reached on foot, it's about 30 minutes away.

Simple hotel ( max **), with spacious rooms, decent breakfast, slow internet. Old feeling inside due to sime pieces of furniture and some old stained rugs. Metro close by. Location is more than perfect!

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
