This hotel was a pleasant experience, our room was spacious and quiet. The interior had some "Viennese" elements with chandeliers etc which was a nice touch. There was a separate bathroom and toilet, which works well for two people. Breakfast was OK, the breakfast room was a bit small but seemed to seat the guests fairly nonetheless. Staff was friendly... We have recently stayed at the Savoy for the 2nd time after a break of some 6 years. In that time nothing has changed. The deception staff were wonderful as was the busy breakfast lady who greeted us with a smile every morning. We had a larger room this time which was on the same floor as reception and the... More

An excellent boutique hotel in a quiet street just off Mariahilferstrasse a few steps from shopping, dining and museum quartier. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and accommodate all your needs with a smile. Rooms are spacious and elegantly (and simply) furnished. Breakfast is adequate.

We stayed here four nights on our first visit to Vienna. The hotel is full of classic Viennese elegance. Decorated in an older style but suits Vienna perfectly. Rooms are large and comfortable with an entrance lobby, seperate toilet, bathroom and spacious bedroom. Rooms have a large TV with scores of German language chanels but no English chanels; there was... More

We stayed here for one night. The hotel itself was a little tricky to find but the staff were lovely and the room was huge - it had an entry hall, bedroom, bathroom and separate toilet and was beautifully decorated. The location was ok - there was a metro stop about a 5 min walk away and the city centre... More

The Savoy is an interesting Hotel to say the least. First off, you have to drag your luggage up a flight of stairs to get to the hotel entrance. Then the elevator fits 1 person at a time with luggage. It is very typical Viennese decor. The room we had was not my cup of tea. The colours and decor... More

Hotel Savoy Garni was beautifully located on a quiet street off Mariahilferstrasse (very convenient to shopping, metro, trams, buses) It was within very easy walking distance of the Museumquartier, and all the important buildings you might want to visit off the Ringstrasse. The room #43 was spacious, and beautifully appointed. The bathroom spotless, modern, impressive. The entire hotel was impeccably... More

Stayed at this hotel from Sept 14 till 17 and we loved it. Location is amazing- close (10 min walk) to Old city (Hofburg palace- Mozart/Strauss concert was very good, Kunsthistorisches Museum- amazing art gallery), next to Shopping area (Mariahilfer Straße) surrounded by coffee shops and restaurants. At the same time it’s quite area- almost no traffic or noise. Good... More

This hotel is near the museums and is a short walk to the station. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room did not have air conditioning and the breakfast room was small. If you are moaner this might be a problem but I thouroughly enjoyed my stay here and it was a great base to see Vienna

Fantastic location! Close to everything and a subway (U-Bahn) nearby. Large rooms and nice bathroom. The room even had a walk-in closet! The rooms are not air-conditioned (welcome to Europe), but there is a portable electric fan in the room. Problem solved. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you drive, the hotel has a garage as well. The... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
