I stayed with my family for 3 nights in December. The hotel is quite old and the employees seem to work there from the beginning. The location is good, near the subway station and 15 minutes walking distance to Stephan Platz. Room was ok, clean but we have problem with heating. We called for assistance and they were fast enough... More

I spent 4 nights in this hotel in January 2015 and was very satisfied. The reservation process and the whole communication with the hotel was fast and correct. The staff was very nice and helpful and gave me all the necessary information + map + tips for sightseeing in Vienna at my arrival. The rooms were nice, with appropriate temperature... More

Very basic hotel. Location was good, but service was average. Poor breakfast, but nice coffee. Receptionists were not friendly. Wifi was available only in lobby downstairs, while receptionists claimed that it was available in the room. Average 3 star hotel.

The look of the hotel is a bit dated, however it does have what you would expect from a hotel like wifi and pleasant rooms. There is a macdonalds round the corner which I recommend in the morning as the breakfast is very limited. The hospitality of the breakfast staff is also very limited as they turned us away when... We were lucky to get a room in the hotel as they were officially booked. The TV did not work and the room was a bit dated but it was spacious, comfortable and clean. Located just a few minutes from kosher restaurants and bakery.

Although not in a bad location, close to transport, restaurants, shops I didnt like it. Rooms clean but old. Very noisy lift which you could hear from the room. This was disppointing considering the staff told us the rooms were soundproof! They are not because we could hear everything and I mean everything, including what the people next door to... More

Visited Vienna this week and booked this hotel at the last moment. Was very surprised to firstly find a Hotel so close to the Vienna centre near the 1st District for such a good price. We paid around 80 € / night which was almost half of what other hotels in the area were asking for. To start, the check... More

A decent place to stay with free wifi, a plentiful breakfast buffet near public transport and all at a very reasonable price. Downside in the summer is that there is no AC, and with windows open, there is a bit of street noise. Quiet with windows closed. Bathrooms were roomy and beds were comfortable. Stairs as well as elevators handy... More

The staff at the Hotel Tabor where unhelpful. When I asked if there was a laundrette nearby I was told there wasn't and I would need to use the hotel facilities. After arriving late that day I agreed to pay 50euros for my twelve items of dirty laundry as i was desperate. The next day I left the hotel only... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
