We stayed two nights at Hotel Royal. The location is second to none. Once we step out of the hotel we are in the busies tourist district. Most of the tourist spots were within walking distance. Our hotel room was large with four beds. Breakfast buffet had quite a variety. Our only complaint was that the pillows were kind of... More

Our experiences (me and my father) with your hotel were fantastic. Thanks a lot to people at the reception they were very nice and friendly. Really appreciate. Also, you can easily reach all major sightseeing places by walking from the hotel (except Schönbrunn Palace). And, in general, Vienna is a fantastic place. I also liked Austrian people and culture. Very... More

The hotel staff overall were most obliging and the hotel very comfortable and exceedingly central for our purpose. Cannot comment on the lunchtime or evening food except to say that the breakfast was more than adequate.

Stayed for a couple of days whilst on business. Room was clean and suitably equipped. A more traditional hotel when compared to other modern places, Hilton etc. Friendly and helpful staff. Outstanding restaurant which provided room service. Would benefit from an iron & board and a restaurant menu in the room. Could not get air conditioning to function. For the... More

Great stay! We booked at the Royal based on the recommendations of a friend who had stayed there, and one who lives in Wien. Incomparable location. So close to the shopping, Stadt Oper, numerous major sights to visit on foot, and the Underground entrance is literally 40 yards away. The service was fantastic! Outstanding staff. Alexander Suchs (the most outstanding... More

Our room was big and clean, location could not be better, ladies at the reception were very friendly and professional. Breakfast was also very good. A bag with souvenirs from Hard Rock cafe disappeared from our room, because apparently the cleaning lady thought it was rubbish. The lady at the reception handled this very professional and eventually found our souvenirs.Although... More

Dear Marianna! Thank you for your kind words regarding your recent stay at our Hotel Royal. We have to excuse the cleaning lady again - as you state - such an inncident should not happen and she obviously was in a hurry and did not check your bag thouroughly. Just spent two nights here, and it was a pleasurable experience from arrival to departure. The room was nice and big, and the en suite was a dream. Hotel staff were friendly and charming, both at the hotel as well as the downstairs restaurant, Enoteca Firenze (which was also excellent). WiFi was free and fast, not always a guaranteed combination.... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
