The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of the inner stadt , just round the corner from the wonderful Stephansdom cathedral. The room was very comfortable , the staff very helpful and a good selection of dishes in the buffet breakfast . If you are looking for a good hotel right at the heart of things this is the... More

The hotel is definitely dated, but it's very central directly next to the St. Stephen's and the prime shopping area, easy walking distance to major sights. Although you do hear the church bells ringing very loudly. I was doing a lot of sightseeing so not in my room much so didn't bother me too much. The room was spacious with... More

Picked this hotel because of location (great!), price (very good! 129 euro/night with full breakfast) and being 4* rated. The first two are correct, but the third isn't. This hotel is living on previous glory, with photos of celebrities, including Pavarotti, in the dining room. None of the extras one expects in a 4* hotel. Rooms are rather sparsely furnished.... Stayed 3 night with my 9 yrs old son. The location can't be better - right next to Stephandom with U-Bahn station. Rooms are spacious, and the windows are well isolated so you can't even hear the church's bells and the fuss on the streets right under the room. Breakfast buffet is rich with great variety of fresh delicacies such... More

Stayed for four nights as a group of five friends. This hotel could not be more central, in the pedestrianised zone around St. Stephen's Cathedral. Excellent restaurants nearby, major cultural sights within walking distance and close to Metro station for trips around the city. Rooms were comfortable.Reception and breakfast staff really helpful and welcoming.

When visiting a big city, the most important thing is the location of the hotel. Well, hotel royal has it plus large rooms, great brrakfast including vegetables, cerral, many sorts of bread, cheeses, cakes, juices, eggs and cosiness in general. Highly recommended

I had no smokers room, but constantly the smoke/smell from the smoking floor or neighboring rooms was present at the room, so all the time room smelled like smokers ones. As previous reviewers have all already mentioned, the location, the price, the ease of using public transportation, the breakfast selection, all worked towards making this a great choice for accommodation in Vienna. Comfortable. Friendly. A short walk from the State opera house and lots of shopping at your doorstep. I took the airport express from the airport to Mitte station... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
