October 31, 2008 Just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Clean, friendly and well run. Included Breakfast in the morning was very good. The location was fabulous ... you could walk to every historic attraction very easily. We never had to use any type of transportation. Shopping and restaurants were very close by. Two computers available for free... more

This is a small hotel of very good quality, but perhaps its best feature is its position. Litterally right in the centre of Vienna, a dozen paces from the main pedestrian shopping area and no more than five minutes stroll to the cathedral. Most other city centre attractions are easy walking distance - the Imperial Palace, Spanisg Riding School, Opera... more

Lovely hotel! Front desk makes you feel at home instantly. They know you by name the second time you enter the hotel. When asked, the front desk will give good hints for traditional coffee houses, sight-seeing etc. The house is old-fashioned in a charming way, while it's still modern enough the same time: Wireless LAN available in the lobby, LAN... more

We have just returned from 4 days at Kaiserin Elisabeth. Absolutely great. The staff on reception, in the dining room and porters were very friendly and some of the most helpful people we have encountered at other hotels. Nothing was too much trouble. Our 2 rooms were very quiet, extremely comfortable and kept spotless. There was plenty of choice at... more

This hotel was on the pricier end of the budget we like to keep when traveling in Europe, but it was worth every Euro! The location can't be beat, we walked everywhere. The reception/concierge service was first-class all the way. They recommended EXCELLENT restaurants, helped us decide what kind of show to see, and were able to get us tickets... more

Very obliging staff. They help you in every situation and it isn't a real problem for them to get tickets for all the cultural events coming up in Vienna. The location of the hotel is great. Only 2 minutes waking from the "Stephansdom" in the beating heart of Vienna. During the EURO 2008 the fans were celebrating their teams just... more

It was our first visit to Vienna and after five days we left with nothing but wonderful memories of both the city and the hotel. As stated in other reviews the location could not be more central with most of the major attractions within easy walking distance and the spire of St Stephens was always a good landmark when we... more

We stayed at the Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth for 3 nights in May 2008. The rooms, while old, are very clean, have very comfortable beds with feather pillows and down duvets, and are spacious by European standards. Our bathroom was huge, but no standing shower, only a Roman style bathtub faucet by the tub. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a... more

This is a great Vienna hotel for the tourist. Very central in the inner city makes almost every destination walkable. Very large room for a central Europe hotel (we had number 213). Very clean. Breakfast buffet also large and good. Staff helpful. However a bit expensive at €214 incl breakfast even by Europe standards - I can get a good... more

I visited Vienna on Thursday 24th April 2008 in order to run the Vienna City Marathon on Sunday 27th. I came across Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth on Tripadvisor, it is also recommended by both guide books that I bought: Time Out Vienna and Lonely Planet Vienna. As a girl and a lone traveller, I always look for cleanliness, safety and location... more
