The hotel is really very good, we had a very big family room for two adults and two children, plenty of space, clean and with a big and nice bathroom. And, most of all, the position of the hotel is perfect to reach by foot ANY place you would want to visit in Wien. Additionally, all around it's full of... More

Location, location, location. Hotel Kaiserin Elizabet is perfectly located for most all touring that you will do in Vienna. When we finished up our daily tours, it seemed that the hotel was always only blocks away. Also, the restaurants where we made reservations were within walking distance. Upon reflection, we did not use any cabs. We either walked or took... More

Beautiful old hotel just steps from the main pedestrian street and around the corner from St. Stephen's Cathedral. The front desk were extremely friendly and helpful! The hotel is so close that all the cleaning and delivery trucks in the morning are quite loud starting at 6:30. Good air conditioning and quiet in the evenings. The breakfast was fine but... More

Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth has all the old world charm you'd expect from the name, and is conveniently located in the very modern centre of Vienna. A short distance (2-3 minutes) from the Cathedral, you couldn't be more centrally located. The staff is outstanding - friendly, and extremely helpful in organizing and planning your visit. The rooms are ample in size,... More

The hotel is located right in the center of town, 5 minutes walking to St. Stephan's Cathedral and close to many other sights. Many restaurants, cafes, shops and the subway are close by. Staff were all very friendly, from check in to check out, they also organised concert tickets for us. We asked for 3 rooms close to each other,... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
