My husband and I stayed at this hotel in October. Lovely old building, convenient to everything. Room was comfortable and spacious for European city, and service was impeccable. Bedroom was classic and beautiful 'old european' style furniture which we loved, and did not have a 'generic' hotel room vibe. Breakfast options were wide ranging and delicious. Only downside was the... More

A very elegant hotel right in the centre of things. My room was very comfortable and very clean and the staff extremely pleasant. Very good breakfasts. I look forward to visiting beautiful Vienna again and will certainly be staying here.

My wife and I stayed for 6 nights in March 2015 - second visit, will definitely go back if in Vienna again! Lovely old building (not glass and chrome!), refurbished and comfortable rooms, excellent service (both reception/concierge and room), really good breakfast! Centrally situated 1 block from Stephansplatz, so very convenient. Only problem is some street noise at night and... More

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night on a business trip. Arrived late and the receptionist was very friendly and changed my room to a quiet room (away from street). Nice room, not new but absolutely fine an classic "antique" style, relatively new bathroom, good, good WiFi connection. In the morning reception was manned by two gentlemen who were... More

I enjoyed my stay at the Kaiserin Elisabeth. Service was attentive and very friendly, checking/checkout was easy and efficient. My room was not ready when I arrived but I was able to unwind in the restaurant/cafe part of the hotel. I found the food wholesome and enjoyable. The 'melange' cafe was really good, so were the pastries, cakes, and sandwiches... More

I have stayed at this hotel several times and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. It is in a perfect location - I couldn't ask for a better spot. I stayed in a single room this last stay which was small, but still comfortable and the bathroom was quite large. My only complaint is that there is no fitness... More

This is a hotel full of charm, just what you want to find in the middle of Vienna. The rooms are comfortable and huge, with no trace of bland corporate hotel furnishing. Instead, high ceilings and appropriately creaking floorboards. The staff are friendly and helpful to a fault. Step out of the hotel and you are in the middle of... More

I stayed here for 5 days in December 2013, in planning my next trip I decided I better finalise the reviews from my last trip. I had previously stayed ay Kaiserin Elisabeth back in 2006 so booked it again particularly for its central location. On this occasion I was travelling solo and had a single room with breakfast. The room... More

I feel I must write this review after another wonderful stay at there. I have stayed at Kaiserin Elisabeth numerous time since 2006. I must say this is by far my favourite hotel in Continental Europe. It makes me feel at home from the first step when I walk into its lobby. The three gentlemen at the reception (who have... More

The hotel is centrally located with shops and restaurants on the doorstep. The room we had (313) was very spacious with a lovely big bathroom. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful. Breakfast was very good. Only downside was we stayed one night only.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
