We stayed in an apartment at the hotel and it was exactly what we wanted. A spacious apartment, large rooms and high ceiling (good for the hot weather), friendly and helpful staff. Not right in the city centre but very good local restaurants and right next to a citybike stand, which we found provided a good way of getting around... More

Clean but spartan rooms. Staff was mostly friendly but got a snide, snarky remark from the desk clerk when asking for restaurant recommendations, which are pretty much non-existent in the area. There's very little shopping or food nearby and the historic district is 2 bus stops or 10 EU away. Not at all a convenient location and the price wasn't... More

First trip overseas, first hotel we stayed at and couldn't be happier. The receptionists were great, so helpful and went out of their way to assist in anyway even teaching a few Austrian phrases to get you through if you are like us and your austrian is very poor, the rooms were very functional and spacious and very importantly clean,... an excellent hotel and very cheap. Very comfortable bed, good wifi, nice breakfast. Especially I like pictures on the walls. It takes about 15-20 min to get to the city centre. There are some supermarkets nearby.friendly and helpful English speaking staff.

Just back from a 4 night stay at this hotel and while we were mildly disappointed by the room initially ,turns out the beds were extremely comfortable,it was spotlessly clean and the staff were very helpful.we found the breakfast to be as good as any and the coffee was excellent.while we walked everywhere ,i can understand that the location may... It's been a year or so since I was there, but The Art Hotel is in a great location, good price and a cool property. You're close to both a strassenbahn (street car) and U-bahn (subway) stop. If you leave the hotel, turn left and then left again, up one block is a pub with excellent food and service. This... More

The hotel is a little far from the centre, but the excellent public transport negates that as a problem. The hotel was very comfortable with a useful kitchen area in the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. Did not try the breakfast, but it smelled good.

I am truly shocked at the good reviews this Hotel got. I just got back from a stay here May 17 and 18th 2015. It is nothing more than a Hostel. The rooms are minimal and the hallways are dark and dingy. My room had burn holes in the curtain the tubs are very difficult to get in and out... More

We very much regret that your stay in our hotel has given rise to a negative review. In the following, I would like to comment briefly on the individual points: dark hallways in the hotel: Since we try to think about the environment, the lights do not burn throughout the day in the corridors. However, we will counteract this deficiency... More

Rooms are small but clean. Everything is extra : parking 20€ a day , breakfast 20€ a person no coffee or tea maker . Staff was so unhelpful showing us the parking garage I ended up getting a parking ticket. Hotel does not offer currency exchange ! They sent us to the other side of the city .../ there is... More

Ok for a short break and even better if you drive as they offer parking at a cost. Breakfast is good but is extra. And for people expecting tea/coffee in the rooms, there isn't any, you have to pay for it and they turn off the tea/coffee machine so you have to ask for it. Staff are friendly but overall... More

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
