I spent 2 nights at this hotel for a weekend in Vienna. I did the reservation through their web page that is the cheapest rate I found. The location is excellent, in the Schwedenplatz, that has tram and metro connections and also bus to the airport and boat to Bratislava. Is very near from the center, so in 10 minutes... more

Can one recommend a private-owned hotel outside those international hotel chains? After a 4 night stay at hotel Capricorno, now a 4-star Schick hotel, I would not hesitate. This tiny but well-equipped centrally-located hotel in Vienna's 1st district was quite a charming experience. Upon arrival we (a 50+ couple, usually favoring 3-star hotels) were surprised by a bellboy who suddenly... more

The Hotel Capricorno was a quick bus ride and a few blocks walk from the bus stop. It was very easy to find. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. They gave us a map of the city with simple directions to the sites and called us our departure taxi. The room was plainly decorated, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom... more

We stayed at the Hotel Capricorno for 7 nights. The outside of the hotel is nothing spectacular, very rundown and worn. The reception area was small but clear. Our room was on the first floor, near the breakfast area. The room itself was quite cramped and the bathroom tiny tiny. We had a large balcony overlooking a sidestreet. The room... more

I got the Vienna Airport Shuttle bus to Schwedenplatz and the hotel was at the opposite end of the street and took less than 3 minutes to walk to it. The hotel was clean, staff were helpfull and curtious. As I arrived late on Saturday night I was too tired to go to a restaurant so I went to the... more

My trip with a stay in Vienna was my fist international trip on my own, at 18 years old. I arrived early on a Sunday morning and managed to find my way to this hotel with minimal effort via the City Airport Train and one stop on the underground. When I got to the hotel I explained that I'd just... more

I had some reservations about booking at the hotel. I read the reviews and got mixed impressions. Some loved it while some had valid complaints. I had a picture of a somewhat rundown old hotel with dirty carpets, creaking floors and creepy, old hotel furniture. But it wasn't at all that bad... The hotel attendants were definitely friendly and helpful.... more

Located right across from the Danube river, a few steps from Schewedenplatz train station, next to an internet cafe and 25 steps from the best hot dogs in Vienna, this hotel offers great services for a great price. Although this hotel could not be rated as a four star in American standards, in Europe this rating is quite correct. After... more

What kind of 4* hotel has: no lounge, no bar, no dining room, no dressing-gowns, no shower-cap, no smellies, the worst, most uncomfortable and cheap beds ever experienced, fusty old red carpets hiding God-knows how many stains and seventies furniture in the rooms? Completely devoid of charm. Admittedly, the staff (minimal) were pleasant and the bathroom fairly clean, but no... more

Stayed at Hotel Capricorno for 2 nights Oct 2006. Had a good rate directly with the hotel for a triple roon. Very clean, recently refurbished in art deco style. Great location right near U bahn, tram stop and river boats. On the edge of the old district so a short walk to all the shops and restaurants.Breakfast okay, usual variety of... more
