Poorly located and takes an age to reach city centre (one tram ride and then the underground). If travelling with family do not walk to the Hotel (after an opera or a show) as the street is crawling with streetwalkers after 2200 hrs. No restaurant open for lunch and nothing available close by on a Sunday. Cannot see how it... more

Never give this hotel your credit cardnumber as a confirmation of booking if you are making a reservation for a group. In case of cancellation they do not wait for the agreed upon bank transfer but instead immediately deduct the full amount from your (personal) credit card. It takes at least two months to get it back and their administrative... more

This is a good tourist hotel, but probably worth 3*, not 4, as service and staff is below 4* standard. Also, it will take you 40 minutes to go downtown, even if the hotel is close to the Metro. If you don't like group of tourist, don't go there.. However, room are large and very clean, breakfast is very good. more

We've stayed there because the hotel it's close to Schonbrun palace, but the advantage is compensated by the distance to city centre, it's prety far from the Ring, about 15 minutes by car. The hotel have a garrage, but you can also park the car on the street. The room was was quite clean, the staff was ok, the restaurant... more

Stayed here during a business trip to Vienna, as our company had planned a conference at the hotel. At the time, it was very hot and so was the temperature in the rooms. No aircon, and opening a window was not an option, as both the road in front of the hotel as the railroad behind it were very noisy.... more

I stayed here again last week. Needless to say the hoards of Tourists where there in their coach load. Basically the kids are allowed to roam the corridors drunk and noisy. I can not remember whether the nose of the trains or the school students were the worst. The dinning room was as unfriendly as the 1st couple of visits.... more

Located about 30 minutes by tram from the city center, rooms at the Kavalier have a clean, contemporary design. There is nothing in the room to describe hotel services, and the television operates in mysterious ways, with all directions in Austrian-German. My wake up call came an hour earlier than requested and the shower had neither a shower curtain or... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2005. Anyone planning a visit to Vienna will no doubt have noticed that hotel prices in the city are extremely high. We selected the Hotel Kavalier after getting a [relatively] good deal on Travelocity (~ $85 US / night) - even though we could find few user reviews for this hotel anywhere.... more
