Quick overnight stop for us. Nothing special but simply a conveniently located reasonably priced little hotel with very easy walking and public transport access to Vienna centre. The free wifi worked very well and the staff were friendly and helpful, did some printing for me. No fridge in the room which is always a preference for me If you drive... More

We stayed for 3 nights. Great location to explore Vienna. Hotel is small but had everything that you would need. Very clean. Staff very helpful. Nice breakfast in the morning. Room was a good size for Europe. Very good value for Vienna. Would choose to stay here again.

The airport transfer to the hotel was brilliant. We used City Airport Taxis, cheaper than the taxi rank, waiting for us at arrivals, no waiting costs for delayed flights and only Euro30. The hotel is in a back street just off the main ring. I think the best description is unique. Nice reception, VERY helpful staff, antique lift and little... More

Went for five days during new year (Sylvester) with my husbond and another couple. We had what I believe are some of the best rooms at the hotel (we booked four months in advance). The hotel is simple, a little oldfashioned with plenty of breakfast included and is situated in a very nice "homely" neighbourghood in walking distance (less than... More

Hotel Graf stadion has great location - at very quiet nice small street, just 2-3 min walk from underground or tram stop and still in walking distance from all main attractions located in the city of Vienna (Stephansplatz, Museumquartier etc.). Hotel is a little bit old styled and all the equipment is also not the most modern, however all was... More

The Hotel Graf Stadion is located in the Josefsstadt, just west of the City Hall (Rathaus) which is also the name of the nearest underground station. Rooms are decent with comfortable beds, a writing desk with a lamp, a wardrobe, a flatscreen TV and a modern bathroom with WC and shower. The lift is marvellous as it must be from... More

We stayed for the 3 nights in a short stay in Vienna. The hotel is rather old and this is reflected in the facilities (the elevator has more than 100 years, but we can go seated, wich is very cool). The location is good as it is close to the Rathaus and the Museum Quarter The hotel staff was very... More

I like this hotel. It is not brand new but it has something special. It is lovely for couples and it has everything you need on one place. I was here with my girlfriend and we stayed only two nights but it hit the spot

This hotel is perfectly positioned, on a quiet street, not far from the city center and public transportation. Everything was according to a 3 star value. Breakfast was good, staff was nice. It has a garage for your car with good prices. But, be careful, garage is very small with 4 lots, it is very hard to fit a car... More

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theater, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighborhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicenter. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighborhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
