Average hotel but very nice and charming elevator. Nearly situated with Cityoffice (Rathaus). Nice friendly staff. Good breakfast. Very good connections with metro, airportbus, tram and bus, also with Hop off Hop on bus. We do miss a couch in het familiyroom! The bathroom smells a little bit. Overall impression is outdated.

Quite charming, old hotel in a great location - 3 minutes from Rathaus U-bahn station and 5 minutes from Town Hall. Basic rooms are clean and just enough spacious. Adequate, continental breakfast. Efficient staff. Fun, 100+ year old lift (but with modern mechanics) with padded seat a highlight :-) Absolutely smashing value for money! Will definitely stay there again.

The personal was very kind and helpful. The room and bathroom were very very clean, and big. They had a great breakfast with many different things. It was near a subway stations, and you could go walking to places of interest. We had a great experience in this hotel, I totally recommend it !

We chose this hotel because of its location, near the Christmas market in Rathausplatz, within walking distance of other Christmas and New Year village markets, handily placed for visiting the main tourist attractions in the centre of Vienna and right beside the Rathaus underground station. We were not disappointed by our choice. Behind an unostentatious and simple exterior in Buchfeldgasse,... More

Great hotel. Located - 3 minutes walk from the metro station, and 5 from the town hall square. We were checked-in 2 hours ahead of time, were asked only to wait 15 minutes while the room will be cleaned. In the room there is excellent wifi, comfortable bed, shower, small kettle, fridge. Price includes a very nice breakfast. The hotel... More

Hotel Graf Stadion has a very good location nearby tram and subway stations. You can easily get to from here the center of Vienna. I recommend you to choose this hotel if you want to visit Christmas markets in the capital of Austria. The one next to the town hall (Rathaus) is the most beautiful one and only five minutes... First of all the room was very clean and even the small single that I stayed in was spacious enough for one person. They've added wardrobes since earlier reviews so no problem in hanging clothes. I stayed for a week and once you get familiar with the tram and underground, Vienna is at your doorstep. It couldn't be any more... More

Very nice room with very good wifi connection. Breakfast tasty with good variaty of products. Great location! Minus points would be bad smell (old cigarette smell?) in ground floor wing and too soft matrace).

Awesome place for tourists - few steps from City Hall, subway and old town with nice rooms, great breakfasts and extremely stylish elevator from 1913 - I loved it :) All that with a reasonable price :) Small incovience is that there is no hotel parking, but if you come to Vienna by plane/train/bus and use public transport I can... Staying in Josefstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theater, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighborhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicenter. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighborhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
