Hotel Graf stadion has great location - at very quiet nice small street, just 2-3 min walk from underground or tram stop and still in walking distance from all main attractions located in the city of Vienna (Stephansplatz, Museumquartier etc.). Hotel is a little bit old styled and all the equipment is also not the most modern, however all was... More

The Hotel Graf Stadion is located in the Josefsstadt, just west of the City Hall (Rathaus) which is also the name of the nearest underground station. Rooms are decent with comfortable beds, a writing desk with a lamp, a wardrobe, a flatscreen TV and a modern bathroom with WC and shower. The lift is marvellous as it must be from... More

We stayed for the 3 nights in a short stay in Vienna. The hotel is rather old and this is reflected in the facilities (the elevator has more than 100 years, but we can go seated, wich is very cool). The location is good as it is close to the Rathaus and the Museum Quarter The hotel staff was very... More

I like this hotel. It is not brand new but it has something special. It is lovely for couples and it has everything you need on one place. I was here with my girlfriend and we stayed only two nights but it hit the spot

This hotel is perfectly positioned, on a quiet street, not far from the city center and public transportation. Everything was according to a 3 star value. Breakfast was good, staff was nice. It has a garage for your car with good prices. But, be careful, garage is very small with 4 lots, it is very hard to fit a car... More

Stayed there for almost a week over the new year's and loved it. The rooms are actually as in the pictures here and on booking.com; the elevator is a marvellous piece of history; the location is perfect - you're very close to the center and the metro stations where you'll be transferring the most; but you're not in the middle... The hotel is ideally located near the Rathaus and close to a metro station (perfect for airport transfer and the mandatory Schonbrun trip). It is within walking distance from Museum Quartier and other points of interest. The breakfast was excellent, served by two very merry and helpful ladies. The room was a bit austere and cold, but clean.

Stayed in May 2013. Good location, well priced, clean room, good breakfast, friendly helpful staff. Would recommend and stay again. Very close to metro, trams, good restaurants nearby. Breakfast was more than adequate.

This hotel has a great location: 10 min by foot to parliament, 15 to the museums, etc. However, there a are two things you should bear in mind. 1) this is an eco-friendly hotel and there is no AC, and 2) internet connection is very poor. Besides this, the hotel is a small and very simple hotel that worked fine... More

We decided to visit Wien in advent: greatest, busiest and therefore most expensive time of the year in this city. Having that in mind, Graf Stadion could be considered a budget accommodation and a very good value. Needless to say, location couldn't be better: just behind Rathaus, less than 100 meters from U-bahn station, 10 min walk to Museumsquartier, 15... More

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighborhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theater, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighborhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicenter. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighborhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
