We stayed at this hotel in the last week of May. This was our first visit to the city as well as the Hotel. The Hotel offers really spacious rooms which were more than sufficient for us. The bathroom too was very spacious. Breakfast is nice and is good enough to run you for the day with real nice coffee... More

First time to Vienna and on arrival to hotel, it started to snow........magical. Check in was a smooth process with the most entertaining Peter, who worked at reception. It was with Peters expert advice and suggestions, we were able to navigate Vienna at ease. Our room was average in size with enough space to move about in with ease. A... More

We stayed at Allegro with our tourism tour group and stayed at the top level, dublex room which has a little kitchen, 3 bathrooms and a balcony. Very convenient for big families. Breakfast was enough; 2 types of yoghurt, cheese, croissants, bread etc. Receptionists were very helpful about both our stay and Vienna. Hotel is very close to one of... More

My Daughter and I stayed here in April 2015 and found it to be really good value for money and we could not fault it. The Receptionists both spoke English, they were very friendly and extremely helpful. We had a huge room and the bathroom and shower were exceptional. Loads of room and even though we were overlooking the main... More

Correct hotel, correct service, helpful reception. The breakfast is very good, but not exactly the same as it is shown on the pictures (eg. fresh fruit salad, vegetables were missing). The room is large and comfortable, but not cosy at all. You could see the place of the missing pictures on the walls. Maintenance should be better (broken light, shower... More

Me and my wife stayed here for a 4 nights city break. The hotel is ok, but not more then that. We booked a double room and we were checked in a single room. I went to the reception and there, there was another person who had some similar problem - assigned a double room when they payed for a... More

It was simply a place to rest - but could be a great central point for others. Next to the main thoroughfare and rail, so traveling is easy in and easy out. Check in desk is small and like the property, no frills. I was quite pleased to get a very clean room and toilet - important to us. And... More

We (myself and wife) stayed in allegro for 4 nights and it was a pleasant stay. The connectivity to public transport is excellent. The hotel staff was nice, English speaking and ready to help anytime. Though it is not in the heart of the city, it takes only 15 mins to reach there. The standard double room was pretty big.... I happened to make a wrong booking (one day earlier) and then when I showed up on the next day, they found a room for me in their hotel and did not charge me any money for it! this hotel does take care of its clients really well, and sets up very good prices (we paid only 49 euro for... More

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
