I stayed here with my Mum and sister mainly because of the ideal location and cheap deal we got. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find we got so much more. The staff were beyond helpful, assisting us with information on everything we needed. The tram stop is stright across the road and takes less than 10 mins to get... more

We enjoyed a week in Vienna in February (2009) and stayed at the Hotel Allegro which is just next to the Matleindorferplatz station and tramstop. At first view, as we emerged from the (underground) tram stop, we thought - Oh dear, what have we done! - The hotel is on a busy intersection and you have to wait for a... more

We stayed at the Allgro for 4 days in November 2008. They overall stay was ok. We booked a double room for about $70 per night which included breakfast. The room was clean, but small with no decorations what so ever. They had a small 13" tv on a low table across the room which made it difficult to see... more

I stayed at the Allegro for one night after returning from a weekend trip to Graz and the evening before my return flight to the USA. The international film festival Viennale had just opened and many Vienna hotels were either fully booked or charging prohibitively expensive rates. To be honest, I probably had the worst room in the house, number... more

Hotel room was the largest triple we have found anywhere - big +, but it is on a very noisy intersection. we asked for a non-smoking room and got one, on a smoking floor - kind of defeated the purpose. also, the restaurant was so smoky, we were unable to eat there. The receptionist was surly and not vey helpful,... more

So My children, father, brother and I stayed here for a little over 2 weeks. It was good for the money. But to put in better detail, here are the pros and cons. Pros -Was wonderful to have apt. that let my father and brother be down stairs and let me and the kids have upstairs to ourselves. - To... more

Late September 2008, we went to Vienna, to visit my mother. We were three adults and two small children. We had booked on-line an apartment at Hotel Allegro (formerly Hotel Amarante), located at Matzleinsdorferplatz, about 10 minutes from downtown by street car. It is located close to one of the main railroad lines though the noise was not very noticeable.... more

Upon arriving at the hotel Allegro we were dismayed to see the exterior displaying ripped canopies, scruffy exterior and, worst of all, situated at a main crossroads and an exit from a flyover. True it was directly opposite a railway station but the situation was not good. The room was quiet (providing you kept the windows firmly sealed. The bathroom... more

Not in walking distance to center, must take tram! Rooms large, but dated. Amenities not 3 star. But worse, during our stay the European soccer was on and we were charged outrageous prices (EUR 200/night). Other hotels did not escalate their prices like this, and when sent a formal complaint and request for refund, it was flat out denied! Aircondition... more

Outstanding experience. Pleasant walking distance to the center and attractions. Rooms are exceptionally spacious, clean, and comfortable, with added amenities we didn’t expect. Hotel is very elegant, staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful and kept us going for most of the day. Well beyond what we expected for price and star rating. more
