supposed to be three star in my opinion it would struggle to get two the rooms are very dated, the public rooms are poor and the location is noisy it is more akin to somewhere a local council would put homeless people or a hostel not a comfortable holiday location, imagine the noisiest road you know and then put it... We stayed in this hotel for 1 night because of our early flight departure. Firstly I booked the hotel through an online tour operator but it went bankrupt. They cancelled the reservation without informing me. I started chargeback procedure via my bank and contacted the hotel for the needed documents. I got all the documents I needed in 10 minutes... We were accommodated in your hotel from March 30th till April 1st. It was great stay in spite of the weather. Unfortunately one receptionist did a mistake when we wanted to use 11€ a day parking, presented on their web (http://www.hotel-allegro.at/aboutallegro/location/?lang=de). She gave us a map with navigation from hotel to garage without a mention of prepaid 11€ card. So... More

Far from the center, dirty hall, dirty rooms, incompetent staff and no garage for the cars.(you will have to park your car in the district 10 while the hotel is in the district 5.) no decent restaurants or fast food in the district. The city is good, nothing special but good. the staff wasn't available with the guests and the... More

We are sorry about the experience you had during your stay. The hotel has been under our management for over 30 years and has Art Nuveau athmosphere, an average room size of 35m². and is managed as a four star hotel with competitive prices. Our staff is trained to support our guests concerns. The nice continental breakfast, our service oriented... More

We have stayed 3 nights on the 4th floor and no traffic noise. We enjoyed the facilities in general. Our room was very big, clean and there was hot water. But walls are very thin and we had to endure moanings of lovers at night. It's very easy to arrive the hotel by S-Bahn which is not very fast. It's not near to U-Bahn.The breakfast (fresh... Stayed at this place mid June 2015. Its a bit far from the city center( about 2,5 km) but there is very convenient public transport just around the corner. If you decide to walk and see the city, it takes about 25 min to the Vienna Opera, down one main road with lots of shops and restaurants. Room and bathroom... More

The location is very good from a transportation standpoint, located a few stops on the tram from the main train station Haufbahnhof (HBF). The tram is across the street and goes non stop to the Opera station, which is the center of everything in about 12 minutes. (7 stops) The hotel is easy to find but it is not a... More

The room and bathroom were clean with comfortable beds. Being right across from the train station and directly beside the bahn made getting to places easy and convenient. It is a short walk to the citye and in front of a quiet, peaceful area of town with a number of cafes and restaurants from which to choose.

Friendly, helpful female receptionists.Breakfast was usual continental meat, cheese, bread, egg and cereal.Carpet in room was worn. Safe needed a workman to open it by key!Broken latch on inside of wardrobe jutted out and stuck me in the head.Reported this, nothing was done. Air conditioning was adaptable on cool or warm with variable strength by switch.Very noisy by main road... More

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
