Our room was spacious and comfortable with a comfortable mattress. Its location was good and easy to reach the city centre by metro or tram. Hotel provides tap water in the lobby as a nice welcome gesture.

I stayed at that hotel at the end of November. We were a group of 12 friends and we all were very pleased with the hotel. We took double rooms. The rooms were very spacious: large hall with a large wardrobe and a mirror, clean bathroom, two comfortable beds, a sofa, an armchair, a chair, a cupboard ... As I... More

The hotel is easy to find, using public transportation, being just across the street of S-Bahn station. The room was quiet and clean, breakfast was OK. , the staff was friendly. We stay there for 4 nights and it was nothing to complaint about/

Clean sheets, clean toilets and shower. Walls are dirty and staff is quite impolite. Not even help with the bag and it is quite hard to open two doors on stairs with two bags. He was just watching me struggling. And they charged my credit card without me knowing, even though it was explicitly said that payment is in cash... More

Hotel Allegro offered me and my family all that I request from a hotel : spacious room, excellent breakfast, very good connections to public transportation. A clean and quiet hotel, very gentle and nice staff, a very pleasant stay in this 3 stars hotel. And a very nice surprise - wi-fi free and available in our 3rd floor room, which... More

This hotel turned out to be a surprise. Very near to the main station (but still a taxi ride if you have luggage), the outside did not exactly fill me with joy. But the staff were friendly, it was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was quite acceptable. Large rooms with hairdryer, safe and TV - although the latter had no... More

You get what you pay for. Good was a room (quite large and clean), breakfast with wide options and location close to public transport. Minus: unfriendly blonde receptionist who definitely hated her job (the second receptionist was a nice guy), very dirty windows, bathroom requiring update and smeared walls the needed to be repainted

Very close to Vienna main train station only one train stop away (Matzleinsdorfer station) Room is huge, can sneak in two more ;) a bit away from the action, Ankler bakery is just across the road this the only shop I would recommend, and Spar express at the Shell service station. Pilgramgasse green line train station (to Schonbrunn palace) is... More

We stayed one night in this hotel and we were surprised by a huge double room with comfortable beds. Wifi did work, no AC provided - just a fan. Located on a major road junction - noisy for some people - we could sleep without interruption, and few metres away from S-Bahn station "Matzleinsdorfer Platz" (just 1 stop to "Hauptbahnhof"... supposed to be three star in my opinion it would struggle to get two the rooms are very dated, the public rooms are poor and the location is noisy it is more akin to somewhere a local council would put homeless people or a hostel not a comfortable holiday location, imagine the noisiest road you know and then put it... Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
