Stayed at this place mid June 2015. Its a bit far from the city center( about 2,5 km) but there is very convenient public transport just around the corner. If you decide to walk and see the city, it takes about 25 min to the Vienna Opera, down one main road with lots of shops and restaurants. Room and bathroom... More

The location is very good from a transportation standpoint, located a few stops on the tram from the main train station Haufbahnhof (HBF). The tram is across the street and goes non stop to the Opera station, which is the center of everything in about 12 minutes. (7 stops) The hotel is easy to find but it is not a... More

The room and bathroom were clean with comfortable beds. Being right across from the train station and directly beside the bahn made getting to places easy and convenient. It is a short walk to the citye and in front of a quiet, peaceful area of town with a number of cafes and restaurants from which to choose.

Friendly, helpful female receptionists.Breakfast was usual continental meat, cheese, bread, egg and cereal.Carpet in room was worn. Safe needed a workman to open it by key!Broken latch on inside of wardrobe jutted out and stuck me in the head.Reported this, nothing was done. Air conditioning was adaptable on cool or warm with variable strength by switch.Very noisy by main road... More

We stayed at this hotel in the last week of May. This was our first visit to the city as well as the Hotel. The Hotel offers really spacious rooms which were more than sufficient for us. The bathroom too was very spacious. Breakfast is nice and is good enough to run you for the day with real nice coffee... More

First time to Vienna and on arrival to hotel, it started to snow........magical. Check in was a smooth process with the most entertaining Peter, who worked at reception. It was with Peters expert advice and suggestions, we were able to navigate Vienna at ease. Our room was average in size with enough space to move about in with ease. A... More

We stayed at Allegro with our tourism tour group and stayed at the top level, dublex room which has a little kitchen, 3 bathrooms and a balcony. Very convenient for big families. Breakfast was enough; 2 types of yoghurt, cheese, croissants, bread etc. Receptionists were very helpful about both our stay and Vienna. Hotel is very close to one of... More

My Daughter and I stayed here in April 2015 and found it to be really good value for money and we could not fault it. The Receptionists both spoke English, they were very friendly and extremely helpful. We had a huge room and the bathroom and shower were exceptional. Loads of room and even though we were overlooking the main... More

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
