Correct hotel, correct service, helpful reception. The breakfast is very good, but not exactly the same as it is shown on the pictures (eg. fresh fruit salad, vegetables were missing). The room is large and comfortable, but not cosy at all. You could see the place of the missing pictures on the walls. Maintenance should be better (broken light, shower... More

I went to the reception and there, there was another person who had some similar problem - assigned a double room when they payed for a... More

It was simply a place to rest - but could be a great central point for others. Next to the main thoroughfare and rail, so traveling is easy in and easy out. Check in desk is small and like the property, no frills. I was quite pleased to get a very clean room and toilet - important to us. And... More

We (myself and wife) stayed in allegro for 4 nights and it was a pleasant stay. The connectivity to public transport is excellent. The hotel staff was nice, English speaking and ready to help anytime. Though it is not in the heart of the city, it takes only 15 mins to reach there. The standard double room was pretty big.... Near center, 35 minutes walking. Easy to find (we traveled by car). Receptionist was very kind, excellent English speaker. Lots of small caffe bars and restaurants nearby. Room is very big, clean and warm. Free wifi, very good connection.

We dont mind walking to the city centre everyday for about 40 minutes. There are many routes to discover, although the subway is just 2 minutes away. Nice neighborhood. There is a taxi stand nearby. Lots of small cafe and groceries nearby. Receptionist was very helpful in calling the office of our tour guide. Easy check in and out. Will... More

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
