The hotel is very modern. Rooms small(ish) but everything you need is there. When we were there it was ultra hot (35C) and the air conditioner had to work VERY hard, but coped. All of the staff we came into contact with were excellent, friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast was VERY good, with a huge choice available and it... More

This is an excellent hotel. The staff are very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. It is a very clean and modern hotel and we would definitely stay there again. The breakfast was not cheap but it had a wide range of foods and everything we ate was good. It also has a bar area and a garden where... More

The Holiday Inn was quite good staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was quite good also. The room was good enough for the price and it was well furnished and quiet as I was on the 6th floor. Holiday Inns are not renowned for their quality in the UK but this was a little better than most.

Only 5-10 min walk to the nearest subway station and nearby Nachtmarket which has excellent breakfast options. The staff are friendly and helpful, and recognized my Platinum IHG by rewarding me with on upgraded room on the top floor. Only criticism I have is on the quality of sleep - mattresses were too soft!

Excellent accommodation, good location and very comfortable room, modern decor and equipment. Everything worked. The price was very good. The only thing was that breakfast was very expensive so we didn't eat there. This hotel is surrounded by restaurants and cafés so that was not a problem. We were 3 blocks from the metro station and two metro stations from... More

Founded this hotel after checking out from another hotel with no AC and Holiday Inn felt like an oasis. The front desk agents are really caring and sweet. The rooms are really comfortable, there is a cute little patio if you want to go and sit for a drink. The area has some restaurants closed by and the train is... More

I stayed one weekend in November. The hotel had a great rate and seemed reasonably located at the time of booking. The room was a bit on the small side for 2 for a hotel slightly outside the central city (it was a double room and not the really small singles noted in other reviews). But the biggest issue was... The hotel is small and very cosy . It's modern but not elegant. We took the room for two adults and two kids which had very good size. Room was clean and very comfortable . Sleeping quality was very good . Staff was very friendly and helpful . Breakfast was excellent . There is a bus no. 13A, to the... More

This is not your typical Holiday Inn. It is not a free standing, new building but rather one of the old Vienna places adapted for this hotel. It is easy to miss it, there is no a big entrance or parking space in front of it. The lobby is very small and narrow, the elevator for our room was a... More

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
